End User Productivity Improvements across the Application Suite
Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Release 8.98.3.0 features new enhancements that improve the end user experience. The new Related Information Application Framework for WebCenter Spaces enables users to link JD Edwards EnterpriseOne transactions to Web 2.0 collaboration workspaces. Users can also copy and paste information between JD Edwards EnterpriseOne grid area and other applications, and as well as define their own grid formats in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications by simply dragging and dropping the column headers. This new release also includes enhanced support for the Firebox browser in the areas of import/export and working with media object attachments. Improvements in Reporting and Workflow
The embedded BI Publisher capability has been improved with additional email delivery options and better support for multiple language implementations. The interactive BI Publisher capability for end user reporting has been improved by providing intuitive descriptions when building queries as well as automatically retrieving the description related to a UDC (User Define Code). Workflow Approval Delegation and Task Re-assignment now enables users to delegate the approval of workflow tasks, such as expense or requisition approval. New and improved System Administration tools
The Package Build process has been simplified to allow for the deployment of update packages without system downtime. Update packages containing UBEs and APPL objects will deploy without requiring batch or interactive processing to be suspended. The Batch Window Profiling Utility provides administrators with a view of the batch processing workload for planning and optimization. Server Manager now recognizes HTML application servers that are configured in a cluster for WebSphere 7.0 or WebLogic Server 10.3.2. Enhancements have also been made to the Resource Management in Server Manager capabilities introduced with Tools 8.98.2. Additional Platform Certifications
The new release is compatible with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications releases 8.11, 8.12, and 9.0. The additional platform certifications consist of: - Support for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g components
This certification enables customers to deploy JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with the Fusion 11g middleware components, including Oracle WebLogic Server and WebCenter Spaces - Support for Oracle Database 11g R2 on HP-UX and Solaris
(Linux 5 64-bit support was introduced with Tools 8.98.2) - Support for the Deployment Server and Development client as a Windows Guest in Oracle VM
