This guide outlines the information you need to know about new or improved functionality in Oracle Commerce Cloud May 2016 Release (16.3). Each section includes a brief description of the feature, the steps you need to take to enable or begin using the feature, any tips or considerations that you should keep in mind, and the resources available to help you.

Some of the new Release 16.3 features are automatically available to users after the upgrade and some require action from the user, the company administrator, or Oracle.

Capability Highlights
- Ability to download packages that contain all of the files for a widget instance including OCC reference widgets
- Ability to directly modify elements files via an OCC endpoint
- Minification of 3rd party JavaScript
Key Benefits
- Widget developers can now easily/directly download widget files as opposed to submitting a request for these files
- The ability to modify element files directly will significantly streamline the development process for developers that make use of elements
Additional Storefront Customization
Capability Highlights
- Merchants can now fully customize Order History and Order Details layouts in Design Studio
- Self-service setting in Admin tool for configuring the No-Image image and Favicon for the site
- Create additional custom CSS without locking down Theme configurations
Key Benefits
- Will full control over the Order History and Order details layouts, merchants can add additional widgets to those pages with custom functionality
- Front end developers can now append the global style sheet with custom CSS and still allow business users to control their Themes
Buy X Get Y Promotion Template
Capability Highlights
- Create a simple BOGO where the Condition and Offer Items are the same
- Create a Buy X Get Y where the Condition and Offer Items are different
- Use in conjunction with Include/Excluded Products and Collections, Coupon Codes, etc.
Key Benefits
- Allows merchants to market their product selection and add more units to the cart
- Automatically see messaging for the promotion in the shopping cart
Product/Collection Inclusion and Exclusion in Item Promotions
Capability Highlights
- Set specific Products to be included or Excluded from a Promotion
- Set specific Collections to be included or Excluded from a Promotion
- Available in Get Item Discount and BOGO Templates
Key Benefits
- Quickly apply discounts to entire Collections or have more granular control to include/exclude specific Products
Support rawPmdlTemplate Type Via Promotion API
Capability Highlights
- Use the Promotion API to create Promotions not available within the Admin UI
- The API accepts the rawPmdlTemplate Type as input with custom Pmdl for the Template Values
Key Benefits
- Create promotions before the capability exists within the UI
- Create most promotions that exist as templates within the Oracle Commerce On Prem solution (exceptions include GWP, Group Discount)
Capability Highlights
- The storefront JavaScript now supports developing custom extensions that make calls to external pricing services and apply the prices obtained to items in the shopping cart.
- The external price is used instead of the internally stored price.
- The external price can be applied to a specified partial quantity of the item.
- External prices are validated using the External Price Validation webhook. This webhook will call a price validation service when an order is placed and include the external prices in the request. The service, implemented by the merchant or SI, will return a response indicating whether the order should be placed or failed. The order will fail unless the service returns a positive response.

- The merchant can set the price of items in the shopping cart based on a value in an external system.
- The price can be validated when the order is placed to ensure that it is authentic and current.

Support for Buy One Get One Free Promotion

- Supports the coupon usage defined by the business user in the Administrative Console
- Automatic re-pricing depending upon quantity of items in order

- Allows merchants to setup BOGO promotions
- Coupon usage is consistent across the digital and call center channels
Capability Highlights
- Address book can support multiple addresses for registered shoppers in ASA
- Store associates can add, edit, and remove addresses
- Order History displays the relevant stored address on each order

- Expediting the checkout process for store associates by reducing the time typing in each line of an address that isn’t the default

- Ability to clearly view on-sale pricing and products in the following areas:

- A much faster and clearer reference point for store associates to know when a product is on sale
- Facilitates the ability to complete more sales with the attraction of discounted prices readily displayed in the app
Capability Highlights
- Ability to see External profile properties as seen in the OCC Storefront
- Ability to view and edit these external properties, consistent with the capabilities in the Agent console
Key Benefits
- Enhanced support provides the ability for store associates to view and interact with custom properties that were previously not visible, giving them more insight on shoppers and their preferences
Commerce Cloud - Marketing Cloud Integration
Capability Highlights
- Synchronize customer profile information.
- Upload Commerce order information to Marketing Cloud in near real-time.
- Include commerce customers in scheduled Marketing orchestration programs designed to: welcome new customers, win back lost customers, build brand loyalty with personalized messages.

- Build Brand Advocates with Sophisticated Life Cycle Marketing Campaigns based on profile and commerce data.
- Identify and re-engage with ‘lost’ customers with personalized communications.
- Increase conversion rates by enabling marketers to orchestrate more personalized and relevant experiences for customers by means of profile synching.

Improved Reliability of Session Tracking

- New Oracle Commerce Cloud client storage APIs are leveraged to improve cross-session recommendations

- Customer behavior in previous visits affects the recommendations that are made in later visits improving recommendations across multiple sessions
Capability Highlights
- Share wish lists on Pinterest.
- Share products from product detail on Pinterest.
Key Benefits
- Shoppers can share products they are interested in on Pinterest, increasing visibility of those products and the merchant brand.
Capability Highlights
- Injects the Open Graph tags currently used by the Share Product on Facebook feature directly into the product detail page and static wish list page, making them available to Facebook and other crawlers.
- Includes Open Graph tags for Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook
Key Benefits
- Allows merchants to have out of the box tags in a widget that appears in the component library, so the pages are optimized for SEO.
- Allows merchants to change the Open Graph tags and add other tags of their own.
