Name of Product: Oracle9iAS Release 2Last Updated:09-Aug-2002This VPAT applies to only version 2. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle9iAS after this. 9.0.2.0.1 Oracle9iAS Release 2 is coded to meet the standards of Section 508 subject to the remarks in the Details below. The following components of Oracle9iAS Release 2 do not expose a user interface: BC4J, OC4J, mod_odav, Ultra Search, Syndication Server and mod_ossl. Section 508 standards do not apply to Map Viewer, one component of 9iAS Wireless, because it falls within the Section 508 exceptions for "fundamental alterations" and "commercial non-availability." iFS Manager, which is a subcomponent of the iFS component of Oracle9iAS release 2 has some accessibility limitations; these limitations are currently scheduled to be addressed in the 9.0.3 release of the product. Mapping Workbench, a sub-component of Oracle9iAS TopLink, meets the 508 standards through equivalent facilitation. The Mapping Workbench User Interface accessibility features are currently scheduled to be enhanced inOracle9iAS version 9.0.4. Oracle has developed a script to facilitate JAWS Screen Reader usage with SQL*Plus, and is available on OTN or by request. The following are supported utilities of Oracle9iAS Release 2, which are being offered through OTN, and which are considered coded to meet the standards of Section 508 by virtue of the fact that they are all commandline utilities: Oracle9iAS Proxy Plug-In, the Merant DataDirect JDBC Drivers, Clickstream Collector Agent, Borland JBuilder Plugin, Webgain Visual Cafe Plugin, Server Configuration Tool, Data Source Configuration Tool, Build Generator Tool for Jakarta Ant, WAR/EAR Assembler, Extension for Macromedia UltraDev, and the Mapping Tool for CMP Entity Beans. The information below describes this product's ability to support the applicable U.S. Section 508 standards, subject to Oracle's interpretation of those standards and the remarks in this document.
