PAYBACK achieves maximum data security and efficiency with Oracle

PAYBACK meets highest standards of data security and achieves efficiency gains of up to 30% with Oracle Engineered Systems.

PAYBACK is a bonus program for consumers in Germany and is internationally represented in Poland, India, Mexico, Italy, and Austria. PAYBACK therefore manages customer data especially related to offline and online shopping, and its business model largely relies on customers’ trust in the technology being used.

Data security is a huge success factor for the company. PAYBACK’s growth and ongoing internationalization also call for a continuous optimization of workflows to boost efficiency. In light of this, PAYBACK decided to relocate its IT infrastructure and all of its data inventories from a datacenter in Frankfurt am Main to two new datacenters in Munich and Nuremberg.

Thanks to the optimum support from Oracle Advanced Customer Services, we were able to move our Oracle Exadata infrastructure and PAYBACK data inventories quickly and securely to our new datacenters. After a comprehensive knowledge transfer, we now administer the machines ourselves. The efficiency gains are impressive.

  • Prevent any risk of data loss, exposure, or unauthorized access both during the relocation process and after the start of operations at the datacenters

  • Increase the expertise of existing competent IT staff so they could drive all data management

We decided to relocate our Oracle Exadata because we weren’t able to fully leverage its enormous potential. We were not, however, willing to do without the powerful Oracle Exadata Database Machine, or our trustful partnership with and competent support from Oracle.
