This VPAT applies to only version 12.5. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle Developer Studio after this.

Oracle Developer Studio, formerly Oracle Solaris Studio, is a comprehensive C, C++, and Fortran tool suite for both Oracle Solaris and Linux operating systems that accelerates the development of scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications.  Application user interfaces are Java and Command Line.  Most of the Command Line Interface programs are not interactive.  Some of the tools produce static HTML output, which can not be manipulated.

Authoring tools enforce the use of accessibility requirements such as alt text for images and tables.  The HTML versions of the documents are accessible to the extent listed in this VPAT.  The help for GUIs includes information about keyboard shortcuts and alt text for images.  This is not enforced by the tools as the help content is authored directly in HTML in a text editor which does not validate for this.

The current Oracle Developer Studio product uses NetBeans 8.1.

This VPAT does not cover the following product areas:
  • Oracle Developer Studio Java-based graphical user interface (GUI) installer. The Oracle Developer Studio command line interface (CLI) installer is recommended for an accessible installation process.
  • Command Line Interface commands:  cscope, codean, discover and uncover
  • "See Also" tables in the Online Help.
  • Performance Analyzer includes many ways to view performance data. Of these, the Timeline and MPI Timeline use complex 2-d charts to show the relationship between program callstacks, threads, and time.  These charts currently do not have an accessible alternative.

2.1.1 Keyboard:All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes, except where the underlying function requires input that depends on the path of the user's movement and not just the endpoints. (Level A)
Note 1:This exception relates to the underlying function, not the input technique. For example, if using handwriting to enter text, the input technique (handwriting) requires path-dependent input but the underlying function (text input) does not.

2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap:If keyboard focus can be moved to a component of the page using a keyboard interface, then focus can be moved away from that component using only a keyboard interface, and, if it requires more than unmodified arrow or tab keys or other standard exit methods, the user is advised of the method for moving focus away.
