Oracle and Amazon have announced a partnership to deliver Oracle Database services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), managed by Oracle, running within AWS data centers. This new offering allows you to accelerate innovation and cloud migrations. You can quickly build and modernize applications using capabilities such as Oracle Database 23ai’s analytics and application development and AWS machine learning services, such as Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock.
Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure is available at limited preview. Oracle Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure will be available by general availability (GA).
Oracle Database@AWS is available in the US East (N. Virginia) region at limited preview.
We encourage you to share any requirements for additional regions with your Oracle or AWS account team.
Exadata X9M is supported.
The same database versions supported on OCI are also supported in Oracle Database@AWS.
Yes. You can leverage your existing investment in Oracle Database licenses using the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) program, which allows you to continue paying existing Oracle Support fees while deploying those licenses to Oracle Database@AWS at a reduced cost. Any valid, supported Oracle Database licenses are eligible for BYOL, including, but not limited to, licenses purchased via an unlimited license agreement (ULA) or via a fixed quantity license agreement. However, Oracle Database licenses that are supported via a third-party support organization are not eligible for the BYOL program.
If you do not have an existing license or have an insufficient quantity of licenses, License-Included can be purchased through the offering.
Yes. Oracle Database@AWS usage can accrue the same Oracle Support Rewards as using OCI directly.
Yes. Oracle Database@AWS charges qualify for AWS commitments as AWS Marketplace spend.
No.
Each Oracle Database@AWS deployment in an AWS data center is connected to an OCI data center through dedicated and redundant links.
Yes. All traffic between Oracle Database@AWS and OCI, including Oracle Database@AWS infrastructure, is encrypted.
No. Beyond the physical capacity of the infrastructure, the network between the Oracle Database@AWS deployment in an AWS data center and the OCI data center is considered an internal, regional network; therefore, no traffic costs or throttling limits are in place.
Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure deployments will still be operational. However, you won't be able to create, update, or delete infrastructure resources.
Metrics and logging shipped from OCI to AWS monitoring services will be delayed, even though the Exadata Database Service deployments are functional.
Yes. Consulting service partners can work with you and your Oracle Database@AWS deployment. Please note that Oracle Database@AWS is sold to customers directly via the AWS Marketplace and isn’t available for purchase through any other company or channel.
If you're interested in becoming an Oracle consulting services partner as well as qualifying for a Service Expertise designation, you can find the latest information on the Oracle PartnerNetwork website. Service providers can purchase the offering directly, but not on behalf of customers.
