TATA Realty centralizes HR operations with Oracle Cloud HCM

Business challenges
One of the fastest-growing real estate companies in India, TATA Realty and Infrastructure is the real estate and infrastructure development arm of TATA Holdings, one of India's largest conglomerates. TATA Realty works in residential, commercial, and retail property development, and employs nearly 700 people in roles ranging from land acquisition to building design to sales.
In 2018, TATA Realty and Infrastructure merged with another TATA business, TATA Housing Development Company, as part of a larger effort by the parent company to consolidate similar companies. At the time, TATA Realty ran its HR processes on a legacy on-premises technology system and spreadsheets. Following the merger, and with the onset of the pandemic, TATA Realty sought to modernize its HR technology to enable remote work, streamline redundant practices, improve the employee experience, and boost productivity. Company leaders believed giving employees better data would play a crucial role in accelerating the business.

Why Tata Realty and Infrastructure chose Oracle
TATA Realty chose Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM to revamp HR operations. Reena Wahi, chief human resources officer at TATA Realty, cited Oracle Cloud HCM’s intuitive user experience, easy upgrades, and strong data security and privacy capabilities as the main reasons for choosing Oracle. “One of the key considerations for the company was whether the platform was intuitive,” Wahi says. “Do I have to spend time training someone? And is the user experience compelling?”
Results
Soon after implementing Oracle Cloud HCM, the company noted two major shifts. First, HR productivity improved because the team was no longer engaged in as much transactional work. For example, a compensation review exercise took significantly less time to produce reports, update salary information, inform employees, and send out letters.
Secondly, managers now have easier access to the critical data they need to make personnel-related decisions. Managers can see an employee’s salary details, career history, and other data they need all in one place. Oracle Cloud HCM also helps the company adapt more easily to changing business practices and regulations. Because Oracle HCM is cloud-based, TATA Realty can instantly take advantage of the latest product capabilities and features, including quarterly updates to the application.
Oracle HCM’s interface has improved the employee experience, especially since the company previously used multiple products instead of a centralized system.
