Umm Al-Qura University taps Oracle Advanced Security to help guard student data
Oracle Advanced Security plus Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall boost data protections and compliance with regulations at the university.
“Building a secure data infrastructure is paramount to safeguarding the university's sensitive data from potential cyberattacks. By taking advantage of Oracle security controls and expert consultants, we are able to effectively mitigate threats with minimal efforts.”
Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) is the largest university in Saudi Arabia. As an institution trusted with sensitive financial and student data, preventing external cyberthreats as well as accidental internal vulnerabilities is critical. The university implemented Oracle Advanced Security as well as Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall options on Oracle Exadata Database Machine to provide an integrated IT infrastructure that not just bolsters security, but is resilient and scalable. With these database options, UQU encrypts all its data as a precaution against data breaches, while staff proactively conducts deep, regular audits of database user access and any data changes to address governance and compliance. These data protection capabilities helped UQU establish reliable and secure systems, allowing staff to focus on education and innovation while maintaining the highest levels of trust and accountability.
