Exadata Cloud@Customer helped us reduce maintenance immensely. Since we don’t own the servers anymore, my team just needs to take care of the databases themselves, providing our customers a stable and performant system.

Tommy LiuDirector of Data Engineering, University Health Network

University Health Network (UHN) is a leading health and medical research organization in Toronto. To continually provide excellence in patient care, UHN wanted to refresh its aging hardware, which supported critical patient information and HR systems. Also, its 1,000-plus databases required time-consuming maintenance. The network chose Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer for database performance, automation, and flexible capacity, located within UHN’s data center for security controls to help meet regulatory compliance. Oracle Zero Downtime Migration services minimized the disruptive impact on UHN’s applications. By centralizing and consolidating just 200 databases on Oracle’s Cloud, UHN saved maintenance time and cost, improved uptime, performance, and quality of service, which gave staff more valuable data.
