Does Oracle Cloud Isolated Region offer an edge computing solution?

Yes. Oracle Roving Edge Infrastructure offers computing capabilities in remote locations, including ingesting and analyzing data, managing communications, and processing AI/ML workloads. Roving Edge devices can be ruggedized and are available in different form factors—depending on your portability and compute needs—to deliver cloud computing, storage, data science, and Oracle Internet of Things (IoT) services at the far edge. Roving Edge devices can run connected or disconnected from your cloud region, and optionally, they can enable small, localized roving edge clusters.

How do I request technical support for workloads running in my Oracle Cloud Isolated Region?

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure will provide your Oracle Cloud Isolated Region with a dedicated onsite 24/7/365 support and operations team that meets your citizenship and security clearance requirements.

What operational facilities support Oracle Cloud Isolated Regions?

Cloud network operations centers are classified facilities that are designed to meet the physical security requirements for your classified networks and operations environments. Authorized personnel monitor and operate Oracle Cloud Isolated Regions from the CNOC, whether facilities are on-premises, colocated, or in a build-to-suit environment. Oracle will integrate compatible network encryption devices to support secure data transfer between the Oracle Cloud Isolated Region data centers, user networks, and the CNOCs.

Will my Oracle Cloud Isolated Region get new features and security updates?

Yes. Oracle provides and operates Oracle Cloud Isolated Region infrastructure. Oracle Cloud Isolated Region is a subscription-based cloud service that includes hardware lifecycle management.

How will new releases and patches be applied to my Oracle Cloud Isolated Region?

Oracle, as a managed service provider, performs change management and maintenance to maintain the operational stability, availability, security, performance, and currency of Oracle Cloud services. Oracle change management is distributed to regions globally. New releases and patches are subjected to robust scanning and security measures throughout the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using tools such as real-time audit capabilities and automatic quarantine functions to capture any items that fail the custom security checks you define. Operators in the CNOC verify, deploy, and monitor operations of the Oracle Cloud Isolated Region network.

Can customers provide staff to help operate and support Oracle Cloud Isolated Regions?

By default, Oracle’s global service teams provide in-country operations and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for Oracle Cloud Isolated Regions. Alternatively, a joint operations staffing model can be instituted between Oracle and you (or your chosen system integrator).
