  • Layout tables use appropriate markup
  • Groups of components are marked up with their description
  • Style sheets are used only to change the layout and presentation on the screen

Known accessibility defects include:

(Bug #26185241)   When a user is composing a Service Request message, the screen displays two Cancel buttons (a button for the parent service request record and a button for the message) but the alternate text labels are the same for both buttons.
(Bug #26317746)  Service Request messages are displayed as a parent-child relationship when one message is a reply to another message, but no alternate text is provided to enable a user to distinguish this relationship when using a screen reader.
(Bug #25879589)  When a user creates a Service Request using the Save and Close action, a confirmation message is displayed and the user must close the message. However, a screen reader will incorrectly focus on the Close link rather than the text of the confirmation message.
(Bug #26235289)  While using a screen reader, when a user navigates into the embedded help from the Service Requests work area, the icon to expand the details for each help topic is not read on the same line as the topic name.  This creates ambiguity for the user whether the preceding or following topic is being expanded.
(Bug #26235406)  While using a screen reader, when a user navigates into the embedded help from the Service Requests work area, the links within specific help topics that are labeled as "More Topics" are read by a screen reader as "Link Number" or "Visited Link Number", which can have an unclear meaning to the user.
(Bug #23272062)   In the Edit Service Request page, users may have difficultly determining how to access knowledge because the text label to expand the right hand panel is named ambiguously ("Restore Pane").

Known accessibility defects include:
(Bug #25668548) When a user tries to search for a SmartText within the toolbar of Service Request message text editor, the user is unable to select the SmartText name that is displayed in the search results.  As a workaround, the user must select the SmartText name from the right hand panel on the page.
(Bug #26150059)  When a user attempts to insert a knowledge link into a Service Request message, the linked articles popup does not allow user to use the keyboard to select using the Select column and radio button.  The user is only able to select the "Insert as Text" link using the keyboard.
(Bug #25668485)  When a user tries to edit the category field and product field on a Service Request, the user must use the Alt+down keystroke to expand the field and the Shift+Tab keystroke to search the rows in the hierarchy.  However, the user is not able to use the keyboard to select one of the items in the hierarchy.   As a workaround, the user must tab into the search box and search on the text of the desired item specifically.
(Bug #23032577)  In the Queues list page, the sort controls in the column headers cannot be selected using a keyboard in order to choose ascending or descending order.
(Bug #26179370)  When a user composes a forward or response message on a service request, the user is unable select a contact name to populate into the To, CC, or BCC fields for the email.  This occurs because the search in each of the fields does not return any results when screen reader mode is on and a screen reader is installed.

(Bug #25879604)  When a user creates a new message on a Service Request, the cursor focus does not automatically move to the text area, as a user might expect.  The focus remains on the 'Post' button, and the user must use the keyboard to move the focus to the text area.
