Oracle TimesTen Demo VirtualBox Hands-on Lab VM

Please note that this appliance is for testing purposes only, as such it is unsupported and should not to be used in production environment. This virtual machine contains:

  • Oracle Linux 7
  • Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database Release 22.1.1
  • Oracle SQL Developer 21.4.1
  • Oracle Database 18.1
  • Hands-On-Labs (accessed via Hands on Lab Firefox icon from the desktop)

Requirements

  • At least 12 GB RAM (16 GB is recommended)
  • At least 2 physical CPU cores (4 physical cores are recommended)
  • At least 70 GB of free space (Note: virtualization works best with contiguous space so it is a good idea if on Windows to run a defrag program, and make sure you are using NTFS for your file system to handle large files on Windows. )
  • VirtualBox 6.1 or later
  • Host OS; 64-bit Windows 7 Professional or later, Mac OS X 10.13 or later, Oracle/RedHat Linux 6 64-bit or later

Setup

Step 1. Download and install Oracle VM VirtualBox on your host system.

Step 2. Download the following OVA file (the use of a download manager is highly recommended):

Oracle TimesTen Demo VM( 11,069,283,101 bytes)

Step 3. Open the TimesTen Demo VM QuickStart Guide and follow the instructions to get started for users interested in only the Hands-on Labs. For advanced users, see TimesTen Demo VM User's Guide for in-depth details of the VM configurations and setup.

NOTE:   For the best experience please be sure to check the display scaling factor for the VM as detailed in the 'VM Display Settings' section of the TimesTen Demo VM QuickStart Guide.
