Cerebriu, a leading Danish health tech company, is using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to develop a revolutionary new AI-based tool that helps accelerate clinical analysis of Brain MRI scans – an innovation that is poised to transform medical diagnostics.
Using OCI Compute powered by NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs, Cerebriu is training its proprietary deep learning models on thousands of multi-modal MRI images to develop a system that can interpret and analyze MRI scans substantially faster than with the currently available technology. This could significantly accelerate clinical diagnosis across several time-sensitive medical conditions. Patients and medical professionals will soon be able to discuss MRI results minutes after scans are conducted, saving time and optimizing the clinical process.
With medical practitioners able to detect critical illnesses earlier, patient journeys are streamlined, results can be delivered more quickly, and waiting times associated with traditional radiological analysis and diagnosis could be shortened.
OCI's AI Infrastructure, offering industry-leading bare metal and virtual machine GPU cluster options powered by an ultra-high bandwidth network and high-performance storage, gives Cerebriu a broad portfolio of options for AI training to enable the rapid and scalable development of Cerebriu’s MRI platform and services.
Marko Bauer, Machine Learning Researcher at Cerebriu, underscores the pivotal role that OCI plays in propelling their AI-driven initiatives forward.
“AI now plays an increasingly critical role in how we design and differentiate our products. OCI offers AI capabilities that are critical to help us advance our product strategy, giving us the computing resources we need to discover and develop new AI use cases quickly, cost-effectively, and at scale,” said Marko Bauer. "Finding the optimal way of training our models has been a key focus for us. While we've experimented with other cloud platforms for AI training, OCI has provided us the highest cloud infrastructure availability and cost performance.”
Cerebriu's MRI analysis technology is currently undergoing testing at several leading healthcare facilities worldwide. They are actively engaged in collaborative partnerships with esteemed institutions such as Upstate University Hospital in New York, Copenhagen University Hospital, Oslo University Hospital, Medall Diagnostics and BodyScans in India, and Soroka Medical Center in Israel.
“Cerebriu is at the very forefront of innovation in clinical technology, and we are excited to bring the power and flexibility of OCI to support them in building and delivering the next generation of clinical diagnostics services,” said Marc Jardorf, Country Leader, Oracle Denmark.
