Ocado Retail Sets up Shop with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP

Ocado Retail, the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket, today announced the successful migration of its business systems to Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). The modernisation programme, implemented by Oracle Consulting, has helped improve finance, procurement, and planning workflows to allow Ocado Retail to deliver a seamless customer shopping experience.

Ocado Retail, a collaboration between Marks & Spencer Group and Ocado Group, offers convenient online grocery delivery via Ocado.com and Zoom by Ocado. With 961,000+ active customers and continued growth, Ocado Retail uses Oracle Fusion Applications to help create efficiencies across its business processes with the aim of ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date and utilised effectively for decision-making insights.

“We have a long relationship with Oracle and value its insights, expertise, innovation, and the seamless on-boarding processes that have helped us move closer to our modernisation goals,” said Rebecca Burn, Oracle systems manager, finance, Ocado Retail. “With Oracle Cloud ERP’s automation capabilities, controls, and data insights, we can focus more time on our mission to change the way people shop for their groceries and ultimately make our customers' lives easier.”

With Oracle Cloud ERP, Ocado Retail has automated financial processes, streamlined procurement processes, and improved controls by consolidating numerous business systems on one enterprise-scale SaaS application. Oracle Cloud EPM has helped improve decision making, with scenario modelling and built-in advanced analytics. Additionally, Ocado Retail benefits from Oracle’s continuous innovation of its services through intended quarterly updates, enhancements, or upgrades, including AI and machine learning features.

“Ocado Retail has been a leader in providing customers with a quick and painless experience for online grocery shopping,” said Guy Armstrong, senior vice president of applications, Oracle UK and Ireland. “To stay ahead of competitors, it has consistently invested in the best technology to fit its business needs and goals. With Oracle Fusion Applications’ integrated finance platform supporting the business, Ocado can help increase productivity, reduce costs, improve controls, and enhance decision-making.”

Ocado Retail is using Oracle Guided Learning from Oracle University to accelerate user adoption of the platform.
