Oracle Content and Experience Cloud: Sites 19.2 (Updated)

Product Description:

The Oracle Content and Experience Cloud Service web user interface provides a browser based tool that gives users the ability to create, edit, and publish rich web sites and experiences.

There are several distinct user experience areas related to these features.

The first focuses on managing Sites. It allows users to create, delete and share a site. Sites are created from Templates that contain the building blocks for a site.
The second focuses on the ability to create and manage Templates. Templates are created by saving an existing site as template. Once template is created it can be used for creating new sites. Template can be exported into a package for import to another tenant service. A Template is a well structured folder that can be synchronized to developer's desktop
The third focuses on the ability to create and manage Themes. Themes are developer orientated and contain the building blocks of the site such as CSS, JS, Images and page html templates. A Theme is a well structured folder. The user experience in managing these folders utilizes the existing DOCS folder user interface. These folders can be synchronized to the developers desktop using the Documents Cloud Service desktop tool.
The fourth focuses on the ability to create and manage Components. Components are developer oriented and contain the building blocks for contributing content to Sites pages. Developer can create component of Local, Remote, Section Layout or Content Layout type. A Component is a well structured folder that can be synchronized to developer's desktop. Component can be exported into a package for import to another tenant service.
The fifth focuses on the ability to create and manage Content Items. Content Items are created by business users based on content types shared with this users. Content items can be grouped in Collections to manage approval and publishing. In the Site Builder content items can be added to a Site page.
The sixth focuses on the ability to create and manage Content Types. Content Types are created by advanced users (content architects) in Content Administrator role. Content Types can be associated with content layouts which are used to render content items based on the type.
The seventh is Site Builder. When a user edits a site a new browser tab is launched that displays the site as well as editing controls. These interfaces allow the user to add/change/delete content on specific pages as well as add/remove new pages for the given site. These pages are created from the page templates in the Theme defined for this site. Once page is created, user can add components to the page.

The Themes and Components are built independently of the product, and its files are either uploaded to the Theme folder or automatically uploaded using the Sync Client. The HTML, JS, CSS code in the Theme or Component need to follow the appropriate accessibility standards in order to produce an accessible site. The Site Builder described above has some out of the box components. All of these components have defaults and property settings that allow the Site Builder to meet accessible standards for the published site, when these components are placed and rendered on a page.
