Name of Product: Oracle Solaris 11 Provisioning Assistant for Oracle Solaris 10 1.0Last Updated: 17-Jan-2013 This VPAT applies to only version 1.0. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle Solaris 11 Provisioning Assistant for Oracle Solaris after this. The Provisioning Assistant tool is a back port of the Automated Installer (AI) from Solaris 11 to Solaris 10. Oracle Solaris 11 is already released to customers and Automated installer code which is back ported to Solaris 10 is exactly same as Solaris 11. There are no new features or code changes It is CLI only. This VPAT does not cover the following product areas: This product includes the SUNWips package for Solaris 10. This is a back port of the Image Packing System(IPS) from Solaris 11. One component of the IPS is the pkg.depot server. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23824_01/html/E21796/pkg-depotd-1m.html The server does have a minimal web UI interface that allows one to view the packages in the repository. This interface although available is not turned on by default and all operations available via this interface are accessible via the IPS CLI. This VPAT does not cover the web UI component. This product include the SUNWai-ips-dep package for Solaris 10. This package contains private copies of 3rd Party software dependencies. One of those software components is openssl (http://www.openssl.org/) which includes a openssl binary generated in C which can be used for generating certificates. This component is not covered by this VPAT The Oracle Solaris 11 Provisioning Assistant for Oracle Solaris 10 provides the ability to install Solaris 11 on a target host. This VPAT does not cover the Solaris 11 product or installation. Please see the Solaris 11 VPAT for details.
