 This VPAT has been superseded by Case Report Forms Submit (CRF Submit) 6.2

The InForm CRF Submit application is an InForm application add-on that you use to create Portable Document Format files (PDFs) from an InForm study. You can use the PDFs created with the CRF Submit application for:

  • Inclusion in submissions to regulatory authorities.
  • Archiving of study data for retention by sponsors and investigative sites.

For each study, the CRF Submit application creates PDF subject casebooks that include:

  • CRFs.
  • Visits.
  • Audit trails (including queries).
  • Comments.
  • Signatures

CRF Submit 4.0 Installs on top of InForm  (Just link on a InForm portal page) and Integrates with InForm 6.0/6.1. But it does not deal with InForm UI pages as it Opens in separate Window(page) and all CRF Submit operations that a CRFS user performs is on CRF Submit UI only. CRF Submit Integrates with InForm via Data Viewer at DB level which is not exposed to end user. CRFS user will not browse anything from InForm UI pages. Also, CRF Submit provides shared services which works with multiple InForm trails.

This VPAT does not cover the following product areas:
  •  CRFSubmit Output PDF File
  • Documentation videos
  • Inform

  • collapse and expand icons in left panel and all links have meaningful alternative text using ALT
  • Images that convey information have meaningful alternative text using ALT. however pagination Image links doesn't have alternative text using ALT.
  • Images that are decorative are marked up using ALT=””
  • Non-text characters are not used or have meaningful alternative text
  • CAPTCHAs are not used
  • bread crumbs in available pages, that show status of the form, but breadcrumbs doesn't have alternative text.

Breadcrumb is used for secondary information to the user to know about current form filling status. Alternatively, the status of the form can be known by the section titles

1.4.1 Use of Color: Color is not used as the only visual means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element. (Level A)

The Product was tested for:

  • The contrast ratio of at least 4:5:1, for the application pages & the user guide

1.4.4 Resize text: Except for captions and images of text, text can be resized without assistive technology up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Resizing the pages to 200%, without loss of contents and functionality in the page.

This is working in most of areas, but we have an issue CRF-4455 for the tool tip messages not displayed completely when resized to 200%
1.4.5 Images of Text: If the technologies being used can achieve the visual presentation, text is used to convey information rather than images of text except for the following: (Level AA)
  • Customizable: The image of text can be visually customized to the user's requirements;
  • Essential: A particular presentation of text is essential to the information being conveyed.
Note: Logotypes (text that is part of a logo or brand name) are considered essential.		 Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Images of text like Help Icons which are customized as per user requirements and Oracle CRFSubmit Logo.
2.1.1 Keyboard: All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes, except where the underlying function requires input that depends on the path of the user's movement and not just the endpoints. (Level A)
Note 1: This exception relates to the underlying function, not the input technique. For example, if using handwriting to enter text, the input technique (handwriting) requires path-dependent input but the underlying function (text input) does not.
Note 2: This does not forbid and should not discourage providing mouse input or other input methods in addition to keyboard operation.		 Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • ability to perform functions from the keyboard only using standard keys such as Tab, Shift Tab, Up arrow, Down arrow, Space bar, Enter etc.. without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.

Most of the features are working with keyboard. But, we have below issues that are postponed to future releases

  • CRF-3604 - support copy/paste text in Textboxes to copy multibyte characters
  • CRF-4574 - VPAT - Screen Reader (JAWS) unable to read (tab key unable to focus) "%Complete"& "Data Changed" column tooltips (help image icon)
  • CRF-4608 - VPAT - NO ALT Text defined for navigation image links and it is showing as decorative images

Alternatively we can enter multibyte characters with Japanese Keyboard. Breadcrumb has a form title which describes the current form name
2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap: If keyboard focus can be moved to a component of the page using a keyboard interface, then focus can be moved away from that component using only a keyboard interface, and, if it requires more than unmodified arrow or tab keys or other standard exit methods, the user is advised of the method for moving focus away. (Level A)
Note: Since any content that does not meet this success criterion can interfere with a user's ability to use the whole page, all content on the Web page (whether it is used to meet other success criteria or not) must meet this success criterion. The product was tested for, through keyboard:

  • Movement of focus through each control by using only the keyboard, with no "keyboard trap" that prevents focus from moving away from any control.
  • Ability to close/move away from the item that is navigated

 
2.2.1 Timing Adjustable: For each time limit that is set by the content, at least one of the following is true: (Level A)
  • Turn off: The user is allowed to turn off the time limit before encountering it; or
  • Adjust: The user is allowed to adjust the time limit before encountering it over a wide range that is at least ten times the length of the default setting; or
  • Extend: The user is warned before time expires and given at least 20 seconds to extend the time limit with a simple action (for example, "press the space bar"), and the user is allowed to extend the time limit at least ten times; or
  • Real-time Exception: The time limit is a required part of a real-time event (for example, an auction), and no alternative to the time limit is possible; or
  • Essential Exception: The time limit is essential and extending it would invalidate the activity; or
  • 20 Hour Exception: The time limit is longer than 20 hours.
Note: This success criterion helps ensure that users can complete tasks without unexpected changes in content or context that are a result of a time limit. This success criterion should be considered in conjunction with Success Criterion 3.2.1, which puts limits on changes of content or context as a result of user action. The Product doesn't have any features that are related to timing. However, InForm supports reauthentication, reidentification features that allows the user to relogin after certain period of time
2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide: For moving, blinking, scrolling, or auto-updating information, all of the following are true: (Level A)
  • Moving, blinking, scrolling: For any moving, blinking or scrolling information that (1) starts automatically, (2) lasts more than five seconds, and (3) is presented in parallel with other content, there is a mechanism for the user to pause, stop, or hide it unless the movement, blinking, or scrolling is part of an activity where it is essential; and

  • The Left Panel has links accessible in an all pages
  • Top Navigation through buttons & menus are used to navigate to other pages

2.4.6 Headings and Labels: Headings and labels describe topic or purpose. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Heading  in each page describe the topic or purpose of the content below them
  • Labels for controls describe the purpose of the associated field. In support to it, we have help icon which describes the control purpose and guidelines to enter data
  • Labels for buttons has meaningful text
2.4.7 Focus Visible: Any keyboard operable user interface has a mode of operation where the keyboard focus indicator is visible. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for the operations performed through keyboard focus that particular field, for Visual indication of the location of the focus
3.1.1 Language of Page: The default human language of each Web page can be programmatically determined. (Level A) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Properly set LANG attribute for each page
  • Language of the content displayed in page gets translated based on the user selection
  • supports English (en-US)

However, the product support language Japanese. But, Accessibility on Japanese UI feature is not in CRFS 4.0 scope. Please refer CRF-4606.
3.1.2 Language of Parts: The human language of each passage or phrase in the content can be programmatically determined except for proper names, technical terms, words of indeterminate language, and words or phrases that have become part of the vernacular of the immediately surrounding text. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Proper use of LANG attribute for text passages that are in a different language than that of the page
  • Reading all the content displayed in the page, through screen reader
  • Technical terms like PDF, DocGen doesn't get translated.
3.2.1 On Focus: When any component receives focus, it does not initiate a change of context. (Level A) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • when focus moves to a control, it stays on the same control. 
  • It does not result in a substantial change to the page, an additional change of keyboard focus, or the spawning of a pop-up window
3.2.2 On Input: Changing the setting of any user interface component does not automatically cause a change of context unless the user has been advised of the behavior before using the component. (Level A) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • When an element receives focus, it does not result in a substantial change to the page
  • When user changes a value, the screen doesn't change unexpectedly
  • selecting the left panel links loads the right panel data
  • Loading icon is displayed, when there is navigation to different page for clearness

 
3.2.3 Consistent Navigation: Navigational mechanisms that are repeated on multiple Web pages within a set of Web pages occur in the same relative order each time they are repeated, unless a change is initiated by the user. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Pages that are grouped together into sets with a common navigation mechanism utilize that navigation mechanism in the same fashion, with navigation elements appearing in the same relative order each time
  • Having the navigation controls across all the pages, at the same location e.g. Left Panel, Operation buttons on top & navigation button at the bottom right.
3.2.4 Consistent Identification: Components that have the same functionality within a set of Web pages are identified consistently. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Images and controls are used and identified consistently throughout the product
  • The similar label, control & content names are displayed same across all pages
  • Date Range Filter & Search image Filters are maintained consistently across all pages

However, at few places the multiple selection of "Subjects", "Visits", "Study Version" is displayed format in PDF Request Settings page is inconsistent with each other in other screens. Refer CRF-4234.  These are control popup menus that are displayed in different screens and as per functionality.
3.3.1 Error Identification: If an input error is automatically detected, the item that is in error is identified and the error is described to the user in text. (Level A) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right. The product was tested for:
  • When input errors are detected, they are described to the user in text, including identifying the item where the error occurred
  • when the data entered is incorrect, the users are made aware that an error has occurred and can determine what is wrong
  • error & warning messages are highlighted next the control or through pop-ups
3.3.2 Labels or Instructions: Labels or instructions are provided when content requires user input. (Level A) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Labels or instructions are provided when the product requires user input.
  • The notes are displayed in required pages e.g. 'Note : Upon completion, the request will be moved to Completed page' is displayed in processing page
  • The user input controls have a help icon next to it, to provide the instructions to enter data
3.3.3 Error Suggestion: If an input error is automatically detected and suggestions for correction are known, then the suggestions are provided to the user, unless it would jeopardize the security or purpose of the content. (Level AA) Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The Product was tested for:

  • Where suggestions for fixing an input error are known, they are provided to the user
  • when the user entered invalid input in forms, the error message are shown and the suggestion for the correcting the input as well e.g. If a user enters a password that is not as per oracle standard policies, then the user is suggested with the inputs with which they can understand the valid inputs as per the policy
3.3.4 Error Prevention (Legal, Financial, Data): For Web pages that cause legal commitments or financial transactions for the user to occur, that modify or delete user-controllable data in data storage systems, or that submit user test responses, at least one of the following is true: (Level AA)
  1. Reversible: Submissions are reversible.
  2. Checked: Data entered by the user is checked for input errors and the user is provided an opportunity to correct them.
  3. Confirmed: A mechanism is available for reviewing, confirming, and correcting information before finalizing the submission.

The Product was tested for:

  • The feature to review the data entered in Review & Submit page and if any data needs to be changed, the user can go to previous pages and modify or corrected and confirmed the data before it finalized
  • The user entered data is validated on entering data in controls or clicking on Next or Submit buttons
  • Confirmation screens are displayed in necessary pages e.g. delete user, purge PDF request, deleting other user templates etc..
4.1.1 Parsing: In content implemented using markup languages, elements have complete start and end tags, elements are nested according to their specifications, elements do not contain duplicate attributes, and any IDs are unique, except where the specifications allow these features. (Level A)
