How long has Oracle been involved with Open Source?
Oracle’s commitment to open source began long ago, in 1998. Today, Oracle is involved in many major open-source projects, including Linux, MySQL, OpenJDK, GraalVM, VirtualBox, and others. It is also one of the founding members of the Linux Foundation, the Eclipse Foundation, Open Enterprise Linux Association, and the Java Community Process.

What is the ‘Oracle Contributor Agreement’ and why is it important?
The Oracle Contributor Agreement gives Oracle and the contributor joint copyright interests in the code. The contributor retains copyrights while also granting those rights to Oracle as the project sponsor. You only need to sign the OCA once to cover all changes that you might contribute to any Oracle-sponsored open-source project. Find out more here.
