Expect the unexpected.
If there’s one lesson to take away from 2020, that’s it. And the best way to navigate change is to embrace technology that can adapt for it.
That’s why we’re always working on OHIP.
Launched late last year, Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform allows partners and vendors to connect to our OPERA Cloud PMS, giving them unimpeded access to the data and functionality within it for faster product development. OHIP represents a reinvention of Oracle’s integration model, literally “changing the way the game is played”: OHIP enables innovations that improve operations and elevate guest experience and makes them available in a matter of days and weeks rather than months and years.
How does OHIP work?
n the past, partners couldn’t even begin an integration without engaging Oracle Consulting for guidance. But with OHIP, every integration is now a self-service experience. Users simply register for OHIP and they can immediately take advantage of every capability on their own, without assistance, because of the platform’s intuitive design. Another distinctive OHIP benefit is its creation of two-way integrations, meaning data can be “pushed” as well as “pulled,” leading to near real-time access to information via a model REST architecture. OHIP amplifies the power of OPERA Cloud by enhancing its ability to incorporate best-of-breed solutions, regardless of origin, which is essential for tackling ever-changing business scenarios.
Here are some of the latest OHIP highlights and a preview of coming developments:
In addition, we’ll soon offer enhanced API analytics dashboards in the developer portals to provide greater insight about API consumption. OHIP users will be able to view information regarding how APIs are being used, which would be helpful in refining applications. We’re also preparing for the release of a two-way, push-based API for business events. A WebSocket based API, it will allow users to subscribe to any OPERA business event via the OHIP developer portal. Using a provided SDK, users can connect to our API and have events streamed.
Our goal for engineering the evolution of OHIP is simple: We want to build a road that will connect innovation with those who need it. To navigate an altered marketplace, it’s clear that innovation is critical for recovery, and partnership is critical for innovation.
