PMI and Oracle Construction and Engineering today announced the launch of the Digital Construction Practitioner (DCP) course, an in-depth program focused on technology deployment in built environment project management. The course empowers project delivery professionals to help deliver tangibly better outcomes and covers organizational change management and jobsite technology, culminating with a discussion of proactive, AI-driven analytics. Building on its “Transform” phase foundation, the balance of DCP course content is divided among traditional project lifecycle phases: Scope, Plan, Build, Evaluate, and Handover.
The DCP course is the eighth course module in the PMI–CP™ curriculum, a collaboration between PMI and Oracle Construction and Engineering to pool their respective capabilities to deliver thought leadership, best practices, and tools created exclusively for professionals in the construction and asset-intensive sectors.
With more than 12,000 individual PMI-CP™ courses completed since its introduction, PMI and Oracle Construction and Engineering have collaborated to complete the Technology Trinity and elevate construction acumen globally in the pursuit of safer, better, faster, and more cost-effective project delivery.
The ability of the Oracle Smart Construction Platform (SCP) suite of products to bring PMI-CP™ best practice methodologies to life across the built environment project lifecycle is demonstrated throughout the DCP course. Through interactive screenshots and videos, participants get a firsthand look at the breadth of capabilities of SCP applications, including Oracle Primavera Cloud, Primavera Unifier, Textura Payment Management, and Newmetrix.
“Since announcing the PMI–Oracle Construction and Engineering collaboration about a year ago, our organizations’ curriculum development leaders have been working diligently to develop a space to help drive success in the construction vertical,” said Ben Breen, Global Director Construction & Vice President, APAC, PMI. “The industry’s decades-long need for significant improvement, an increase in larger and more complex projects, and ever-evolving technological advancements amplify the urgency for construction projects to be managed efficiently with governance and transparency.”
“Connecting project teams is a priority for Oracle Construction and Engineering, and the DCP presents a perfect opportunity to connect practitioners to our best-in-class technology that enables consistent adherence to PMI’s proven processes,” said Joe Castner, GVP, Global Ecosystems, Oracle Construction and Engineering.
