About the public sector discount

Oracle’s definition of public sector extends beyond (but includes) traditional government agencies and ministries. The definition also includes state-owned entities, such as those in which a government has 30% or more ownership, voting control, and/or the ability to appoint officers or directors. For example, airlines, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, utilities, energy exploration companies, hospitals, and other businesses can qualify.

Public sector attendees registering under the government rate will be required to show their employer-issued government ID or other proof of government employment as well as a government-issued photo ID during check-in at the JavaOne registration desks at Oracle Redwood Shores Conference Center. Oracle may, at its sole discretion, charge the full JavaOne rate to anyone not satisfying these requirements or cancel ineligible registrations. Government discounts, with or without the JavaOne party, are only available to those who qualify. Public sector employees are not eligible to use a complimentary pass or pass provided by another party to register for JavaOne. View the full terms and conditions for the Public Sector pass here.
