The following is a statement in response to the June 1, 2025 story in The Wall Street Journal entitled, “The Law Firms That Appeased Trump—and Angered Their Clients.”
“The Wall Street Journal published a story referencing Oracle that appears to be fabricated out of thin air. Without a single fact, the story vaguely implied that Oracle is moving legal work away from law firms that settled with the Trump Administration. Other than using Oracle’s name, not a single source or word in the story refers to or references Oracle in any way.
As a matter of fact, Oracle’s current relationships with outside legal counsel do not reflect what the story implies. The story even discusses Microsoft’s discussion with Latham and Watkins about how its settlement ‘could affect Latham’s ability to represent Microsoft.’ Yet Latham and Watkins remains Oracle’s largest global legal relationship, and we have no issues with Latham’s settlement with the Trump Administration.”
