Business challenges

Eclipx Group provides consumers and businesses with fleet leasing, novated leasing (an employer pays for the lease and maintenance out of the employee’s salary package), and fleet and mobility management solutions.

The company was running Oracle E-Business Suite and a core leasing management application platform for fleet partners, which was developed on an Oracle technology stack of WebLogic Server, Oracle Database, Oracle APEX, and other in-house and legacy third-party systems—all on a legacy on-premises infrastructure, which needed a serious refresh. Eclipx wanted to modernize its technology infrastructure to inject innovation into its daily operations, stimulating business growth from within.

Oracle Consulting provides a powerful hybrid model between onshore and offshore and great technical management at a relationship level.

Why Eclipx Group Chose Oracle

After evaluating AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, Eclipx selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to manage its financial cloud, because OCI offered better price-performance for its core applications, automation for efficiency, and on-demand capacity for agility.

Finally, the Oracle brand and trust were other deciding factors.

Results

By migrating E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Eclipx has modernized its infrastructure and applications, reduced its data center footprint, generated cost efficiencies across the group, reduced OpEx, and can forecast and manage its budgets better.

The company now has a predictable platform that has improved application performance, enhanced security of sensitive data, and increased system reliability through automation. The organization rapidly develops applications with the low code Oracle APEX framework on Oracle Database Cloud Service, and also spins up multiple on-demand environments, which was previously not possible.

As a result of the migration to OCI, the load time of its various applications has dropped by 40% and the time required for completing end-of-month processes has decreased by more than 10%.

By using APIs to integrate various systems, which was previously done through batch uploads, the company is now able to feed real-time data on to applications.

With the dealer portal application hosted on OCI, Eclipx’s partners can now generate operating lease quotes and contracts on their own to quickly onboard new customers.

Partners

Eclipx partnered with Oracle Consulting due to its willingness to work on a ‘Pay on Success’ commercial model and its superior expertise in migrating Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
