This is an overview on how Oracle Digital Assistant can develop and combine skills that can create a more natural conversational user interface, through text or speech, to your enterprise systems and perform valuable actions on behalf of your end-users. |
Call them chatbots, virtual assistants, or simply bots. Whatever the name, AI-powered conversational interfaces are becoming mainstream staples for consumers and enterprise alike. In fact, leading analyst firm Gartner believes that “by 2022, 70 percent of white collar workers will interact with conversational platforms on a daily basis.” |
Customer service is expensive. On average, it costs about $1 per minute to service a customer that calls customer support. This cost increases if the call needs to be escalated to the next level of support – from Level 1 to Level 3 – because with each escalation more time is spent talking with the customer and may also involve a higher-paid service agent. |
Chatbots (AI-powered conversational interfaces) have the potential to revolutionize customer service across the utility industry. In this video, we’ll walk through several different ways a chatbot can help utility customers answer important questions, manage their account, and eliminate hold or wait times. Utilities are service-oriented industries, which means long-term customer support is one of the greatest business imperatives and challenges. |

Oracle’s Digital Assistant has been recognized as a leader by analyst firm Ovum in its latest research report, "Ovum Decision Matrix: Selecting an Intelligent Virtual Assistant Solution, 2020–21." The report evaluates 10 niche and large technology vendors while analyzing the evolution of virtual intelligent assistants, the increasing scope of use cases, and the market landscape. |

Fishbowl Solutions invites you to schedule a personalized solution briefing and branded demo to discover how the Oracle Digital Assistant can help employees using Oracle Cloud HCM or PeopleSoft HCM complete tasks, get answers to FAQs, and find information quickly. The goal of these 30-minute meetings is to help you understand how a digital assistant could help your company. This agenda will be used to uncover this information: |
What is the difference between a good bot and great bot? It is the design: design of intents, utterances and conversations. This first session in the ODA Design Camp focuses on the key design decisions you need to make when building conversational digital assistants. You will learn about the most critical factors in designing conversations. You will hear the best practices for designing intents and the strategies for handling disambiguation, errors and keeping the user engaged. |
Oracle rolled out a major update for its voice assistant this week. The Oracle Digital Assistant now includes native multilingual natural language understanding and customizable vocabulary. The updates may help Oracle stand out as a voice-enabled enterprise service as new rivals appear. |
Answer intent in Oracle Digital Assistant uses Trainer Tm, a machine learning model, to understand how users ask for a particular answer. Unlike other systems that map an answer to one or more questions in order to retrieve the answer, the machine learning based system learns from examples (utterances) allowing it to produce answer with high confidence. |
Value-list entities in Oracle Digital Assistant are limited in the number of values they can hold even if they are created as dynamic entities. Reality is that customers look for a way to extract entities from a large set of data values that easily may be in the hundreds of thousand records. |
Oracle Digital Assistant lives in the cloud where it uses universal time (UTC) for all date operations. Dependent on where you live in this world, the timezone offset of your local time compared to UTC varies. For Germany, where I am based in, the timezone offset is 2 hours that Germany is ahead of UTC (or 7200000 ms). |

Pull to Refresh is a common touch interaction pattern in mobile apps where by placing your finger on the device and dragging down you get an updated set of data onto your device. In this blog we show how to add this user interaction to your mobile Visual Builder app using a component from the Visual Builder component exchange. |
Oracle Visual Builder Studio offers an improved experience for packaging and deploying Visual Applications. We now offer declarative built-in tasks that let you package and optimize your app, deploy it (either stage or live version), and manage the data stored in the app. |

The most advanced and fastest polyglot runtime that shows absolutely superb results on Java and other JVM languages — and can run programs written in popular languages like JavaScript, Ruby, R, and Python — just got even better. |

Crucial pieces of functionality in cloud native applications is implemented in Functions. In the case of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure specifically, the Functions framework is typically Project Fn and the implementation language of choice is … up to the DevOps team. |

Disaster Recovery procedures for IT systems is a must for any Business Continuity Plan where the time to get back on line is critical. In these systems you need to setup backup environments that are geographically dispersed and maintain the same configuration in both systems, so if one goes down you can switch to the other system with minimal effort and downtime. |

This sample demonstrates how to use the Oracle WebLogic Server Kubernetes Operator (hereafter “the operator”) to set up a WebLogic Server (WLS) cluster on the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). After going through the steps, your WLS domain runs on an AKS cluster instance and you can manage your WLS domain by accessing the WebLogic Server Administration Console. |

At my current customer we use JMS queues that are implemented with AQ queues based on sys.aq$_jms_text_message. In Weblogic you can create a so-called Foreign server that is able to interact with these queues over a datasource. For a Weblogic application, like SOA Suite or OSB, it is as if it is a regular Weblogic JMS queue. |
