Oracle today announced plans to deliver Oracle Payroll for Ireland, part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). Expanding on the power of Oracle’s global payroll solution, the new localisation will deliver intelligent capabilities like AI-driven risk mitigation, automated workflows, built-in compliance support, improved data insights, and rapid payroll processes for employees working in Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland, a major European hub for business and innovation, has unique and complex payroll and tax withholding requirements. For example, rapid and continuous legislative and regulatory changes mean payroll processes will often vary from one year to the next. To manage these complexities, organisations with employees working in Ireland need the support and flexibility of a cloud-based payroll solution that automatically updates to meet the unique payroll and reporting needs as well as the requirements of local business practices and contractual terms.

Oracle Payroll for Ireland will help organisations save time and reduce payroll errors by eliminating many manual processes and automating complex rules and calculations so customers can address tax and reporting obligations. Adding Ireland-specific capabilities to Oracle Payroll will allow Irish organisations and multinational companies operating in Ireland to grow with one unified global payroll solution.

Oracle Payroll has a 10-year, proven track record paying millions of workers monthly, and gives customers the flexibility to configure features and functionality to meet their unique needs and automate the payroll process end-to-end. It was recently recognised as a Leader in the 2023 Global Payroll Buyers Guide by Ventana Research, which evaluates Product Usability, Product Reliability, and Product Manageability among other criteria. Oracle was the only Leader in all seven report categories including the Exemplary category, which represents those that performed the best in meeting overall product and customer experience requirements.

“Managing payroll efficiently across the globe is essential for every organization operating across the world,” said Mark Smith, partner for software research at Ventana Research, now part of ISG. “Oracle’s commitment to payroll as part of its HCM offering is exceptional and I extend congratulations to Oracle for being acknowledged as Exemplary and a Leader in the Ventana Research Payroll Management Buyers Guide.”

Oracle Payroll for Ireland will provide organisations managing employees in Ireland with:

  • Built-in compliance: Addresses regulatory and legislative requirements for processing payroll in Ireland. Built in the cloud, Oracle Payroll for Ireland can adapt to the country’s frequently changing rules and gives payroll administrators the flexibility to configure pay rules for different collective bargaining agreements, trade union activities, and complex regulations for minimum and variable wages.
  • High processing speeds: Provides a global payroll engine that is built for the largest most complex organisations in the world. Oracle Payroll for Ireland is capable of processing accurate payment calculations for more than 100,000 employees in less than 60 minutes.
  • AI-supported payroll processing: Helps streamline and simplify process flows for payroll administrators with capabilities like automated retroactive processing and autonomous anomaly detection. Oracle Payroll for Ireland enables faster payroll calculations and reduced errors, especially with complex work rules that are common in Ireland.
  • Unified payroll and HR experience: Provides complete access to workforce data within Oracle Cloud HCM to help manage deductions for income, social, and other tax withholdings and improve reporting. Oracle Payroll for Ireland helps organisations streamline cross border transfers, manage retroactive pay, support multi-currency to align with employment contractual terms, and quickly and easily onboard and pay new employees.

“Ireland’s unique and complex payroll requirements, coupled with continuous legislative and regulatory changes, make it challenging for organisations to stay up to date on the latest processes to pay employees swiftly and fairly,” said Chris Leone, executive vice president, applications development, Oracle. “With Oracle Payroll for Ireland, local and multinational organisations will be able to streamline and automate payroll operations using intelligent, AI-driven capabilities to pay their workers quickly and accurately. Additionally, frequent and automatic updates will help organisations address payroll compliance, even as laws and contracts change.”

Oracle Cloud HCM now supports payroll services in 14 countries, including Bahrain, Canada, China, France, India, Ireland, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States. With Oracle’s Payroll Interface and global payroll partners, customers can pay employees in more than 160 countries around the world.
