Computer

Computer requirements

Make sure your computer meets the following minimum system requirements to take your Oracle University certification exam. You can also complete our Pre-Exam System Check before you register for or take the exam.

Your operating system and browser

Please ensure you’re using Windows 11, Windows 10, or Mac OS X (10.15 or later). iOS, Windows CE, Windows RT, Android, Chrome OS, and Linux aren’t supported.

Your connection

Your minimum internet speed should be consistent and reliable (at least 3 mb/sec upload and download with a ping of less than 100 ms). Don’t use a mobile hotspot or tether your computer to a phone. Please disconnect from any VPN connections.

Your device

Chromebooks and mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets aren’t supported. Ensure your OS minimum RAM is 8 GB or more. You can only use single displays—multiple monitors aren’t allowed.

Your webcam and microphone

Your webcam must have a minimum resolution of 640x490 at 10 fps. Your webcam may be internal or external and connected to your computer. Please verify that the webcam, audio, and microphone are on and working prior to your exam day.

Other Requirements

  • You must have an English QWERTY keyboard.
  • Before you start the exam, close all applications and web browsers. Only the MyLearn Exam page tab should remain open.
  • Turn off incognito mode on your browser before you begin your exam.

Identification

  • Identification requirements

    Government-issued identification is required to take the exam. To fulfill the primary ID requirement, the ID must meet the following criteria:


    • Exactly match the first and last name used for exam registration
    • Be government issued
    • Be valid (not expired or invalidated—a clipped corner may indicate an invalidated ID)
    • Include a recent, recognizable photo
  • Acceptable forms of ID

    • International travel passport
    • Driver's license
    • Military ID
    • Identification card (national/state/province ID card)
    • Alien registration card (green card/permanent resident/visa)
    • US learner's permit (plastic card only with photo and signature)
    • School ID
    • European Union Card
  • Unacceptable forms of ID

    • Expired IDs
    • IDs with significant damage, including, but not limited to, the following types of damage:
      • Unofficial markings
      • Unofficial hole punches
      • Water damage
      • Significant tears
      • Missing or torn-out pages
    • IDs from countries subject to US sanctions (including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria)

Day of the exam

  • What to expect

    To ensure you’re prepared for the day of the exam and understand what to expect when you check-in and start your exam, please watch the video associated with the type of exam you’re going to take and perform the readiness check, when available.

    Note: If you don’t know what type of exam you’re registered to take, please check your confirmation email, the exam page on education.oracle.com, or the registration page on Oracle MyLearn.

  • Your exam space

    You mustn’t have access to any mobile devices, watches, other electronics, materials, books, screens, or anything else deemed unacceptable by the proctor. You should be the only person in the room, no other voices should be heard, and you shouldn’t speak for the entire duration of the exam.

  • Readiness check

    Please make sure you run a system check prior to your exam date so you’re familiar with the experience.


  • Timing and check-in

    For proctored exams, you’re required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to your exam start time to complete the check-in process. Candidates who try to check in after the scheduled exam time may not be admitted.


    • Click the Check In button in your registration confirmation or reminder email.
    • Click the Log into your exam button
    • Wait for exam administrator to engage.
    • Exam administrator will guide you through your check-in and exam start.
  • Test behavior

    • You must be the only person in the room.
    • Use of phones or directly talking with others is prohibited for the entire duration of the exam.
    • Don’t turn off or obstruct the view of your camera. Your camera shutter must remain open for the entire exam.
    • Your microphone must remain on and you must always be audible.
    • Looking off-screen and referring to any notes, screens, or other material during the exam is not allowed.
    • Recording or taking screenshots of the exam screen is strictly prohibited.
    • Use of AI and/or any technology to research or get assistance of any kind during the exam is forbidden.

    Note: Violations of test behavior can result in disciplinary action, which can include loss of an exam attempt, revocation of your score, and even a ban from future attempts.

  • After the Exam

    Your exam results will be displayed on the screen at the close of your exam. You’ll also be able to view your detailed score report in Oracle CertView.

Certification guidelines and policies

  • Cancellation Policy

    If you need to cancel your exam, you must cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment time. If you fail to cancel at least 24 hours in advance you risk forfeiting your exam attempt.

  • Reschedule Policy

    If you need to reschedule your exam you must reschedule at least 24 hours prior to your exam appointment time.
