US Pre-Employment Background Check Process

In accordance with Oracle policy, background checks are required for individuals being considered for employment. If you are selected for a position and requested to complete a background check, please review the information below.

Oracle’s background check vendor is HireRight, a leading provider of on-demand background screening services. When Oracle initiates the process, HireRight will email you a link to its online application, along with unique login and password information.¹ You should promptly use that information to log in and complete in its entirety the online form.

HireRight will use the information you provide to prepare a background check report for Oracle. Oracle Human Resources will individually assess the results of this report. Please note: As part of this assessment, Oracle Human Resources will check for inconsistencies between the information provided during the screening process and the information listed on the resume you supplied to Oracle during the application process.

It is your responsibility to verify the accuracy of the information you submit to Oracle and HireRight. Providing inaccurate information about your education and/or employment history on your resume, the Oracle online job application, or the HireRight application, may disqualify you from further consideration for employment with Oracle.

Canada Pre-Employment Background Check

Background checks are required of all potential Oracle new hires. If you are requested to complete a background check, please review the information below. Thanks in advance for your prompt assistance with this process.

Oracle’s background check vendors in Canada are HireRight, LLC and Sterling Talent Solutions. At Oracle’s request, HireRight or Sterling will initiate the background check process by emailing you a link to their online form.¹ You should use the information provided to complete the online questionnaire promptly and in its entirety. Our vendor will use the information you provide to prepare a background check report for Oracle. Oracle Human Resources will compare the results of the background check report to the resume you provided to Oracle. Providing inaccurate information which cannot be substantiated, either on the information forms themselves or the resume you submitted to Oracle, may disqualify you from further consideration for employment with Oracle.

Asia-Pacific & India Pre-Employment Background Check Process

Background checks are required for all potential Oracle new hires. At Oracle’s request, our vendor, HireRight, will initiate the background check process for an applicant. If you are requested to complete a background check, please review the information below. Thanks in advance for your prompt assistance with this process.

In order to complete the verification, you will be asked to complete a secure online form.

Tips on how to complete the form are as follows.

Completing the Online Form

A background check email will be sent to you, with a link to an online form, along with unique login credentials. To ensure that your information verification moves efficiently, please complete all sections of the form that are applicable and be aware of the following:

A mandatory document check list will be provided to you in the background check email which will help you determine the required documents for verification.

Make sure you have all of your documents accessible before you log in to the application

1) Education Information

If you are asked to supply education information, please provide your highest/latest academic qualification or professional qualification.

If you have 2 degree of the same level, please include only the latest academic qualification. For example, should you possess two Bachelor’s Degrees, please only submit the most recently attained Degree.

If you possess a Post-Graduation Diploma which is less than 1-year, do not submit.

If you possess a professional qualification which is either a (CA) Chartered Accountant OR (CPA) Certified Professional Accountant, please submit this as part of education.

If you have not yet completed your degree, please indicate this in the online form (under degree earned yes/no). You may also make comments regarding your degree status or other education information in the comments section.

You may also be asked to supply copies of your diploma/degree and transcripts for validation of your education information. This is a common practice, as schools and universities often ask us to supply copies to help them in locating your records.

2) Employment Information

Please provide employment history information for the past five years. As with employment, you may provide additional comments that would speed the verification processing; for example, you may note that a company has closed or changed names.

Please provide the contact information (name and contact number) of HR and your previous manager, if available, so that our verification teams can reach out to the proper contact. The contact person must be currently employed with the company. If you are a subcontractor or temporary employee at a company, please indicate your payroll company/contractor agency as the employer.

For previous employment, if HireRight cannot make the verification through the HR department, you may be asked to supply supporting documents, such as a certification letter, employment letters, service certificates, or other documentation from the company to facilitate the verification process. This information is requested to confirm your start and end dates of employment.

3) Criminal Information

In countries where criminal check is applicable, please ensure that you provide the necessary information and form for the verification process.

Additional Information

If a HireRight representative asks you for additional information, it is because the provided information is not sufficient to complete the verification. Any delay in responding back would further delay the hiring process. Hence, if you are contacted, please provide any requested information to the HireRight International Department as soon as possible.

Note: It is your responsibility to verify the accuracy of the information you submit to Oracle and HireRight. Providing inaccurate information about your education and/or employment history on your resume, the Oracle online job application, or the HireRight application, may disqualify you from further consideration for employment with Oracle.

Japan Pre-Employment Background Check Process

Background checks are required for all potential Oracle new hires. Oracle Japan collects necessary personal information to select all potential Oracle Japan new hires. In addition, the applicant is also required to provide references for his or her previous employment history.

Oracle Japan will never use the collected personal information for any other purpose than the one mentioned above.

Oracle Japan may entrust a background check vendor who is a provider of on-demand background screening services to conduct the verification. The applicant may be required to sign the background check consent form during the interview.

Oracle Japan will never disclose personal information to a third party without the applicant’s permission.

Providing inaccurate information which cannot be substantiated on the resume you submit to Oracle Japan may disqualify you from further consideration for employment with Oracle Japan.

Europe, Middle East, and Africa Pre-Employment Background Screening

Oracle's background check vendor in Europe, Middle East and Africa is HireRight, a leading international outsourced screening provider committed to delivering best practice for employment screenings and background checks. At Oracle's request, HireRight will initiate the background check process for an applicant by emailing a link to an online form. The applicant should use the link provided to fully complete the online questionnaire promptly in order to ensure a smooth process.

HireRight will use the information provided by the applicant to prepare a pre-employment screening report for Oracle. If you are going through the background check process for Oracle, please review for accuracy the information you are submitting. Providing inaccurate information which cannot be substantiated, either on the information forms themselves or the resume submitted to Oracle, may disqualify the applicant from further consideration for employment with Oracle.

Communication Before and During the Screening Process

The hiring manager and/or recruiter at Oracle will make applicants aware of the mandatory steps in the recruitment and hiring process. Applicants will also be assisted by the EMEA HR Services during the screening process as the interface between recruiters, candidates, and the background screening providers. Latin America Pre-Employment Background Check

Background checks are required for all potential Oracle new hires. If you are asked to complete a background check, you will be notified and your consent will be collected before starting the process. Oracle’s background check process in Latin America is performed by background screening services in each country. At Oracle’s request, the vendor will initiate the background check process for an applicant by verifying the applicant’s current and/or past employment, education, and criminal information, where allowed by local legislation. The vendor may also contact references provided by an applicant in their CV or resume.

In some countries, the applicant will be contacted by the background check service and asked to provide the information, while in other countries this information will be provided by Oracle, according to the information in the applicant’s CV and/or application form. The applicant will be notified of the steps to follow during the recruitment and hiring process.
