Skoda had a heterogeneous system landscape, using CA-Jobtrac, Zeke, and CA-AutoSys. Diversity led to problems, such as recurring communication issues between mainframes and open platforms and no centralized monitoring solution. Every environment required technicians with specialized technical knowledge.
The wide variety of interfaces caused an increasing number of errors in job-flow management, which negatively affected reliability in the IT productive environment. Errors also occurred in areas such as the warehouse, replacement parts orders, and reporting, that are highly relevant to the company’s profitability,
Seamless integration of all systems was one of the key requirements for Skoda’s new tool, and this is what led them to start evaluating UC4 in partnership with Beta Systems. During the test phase, which lasted just a few weeks, 6000 jobs were migrated to UC4 parallel to the ongoing daily work. After successful conclusion of the tests, the entire system was converted to production. Skoda uses Oracle Enterprise Edition 10g database as their scheduling repository.

ClubCorp
ClubCorp's transformation into a billion dollar business was not without growing pains. With many remote users and no Service Level Agreements (SLA) in place, the user community became accustomed to handling requests on their own, causing conflicts and slowing down the delivery of reports. And, to ensure key processing streams, such as payroll, quarter end, and master tax received priority, ClubCorp's DBA's had queues in place to limit resource availability to outside users during those processing times.
Ultimately, a lack of visibility to processes across applications and platforms created a risk for system crashes and throughput bottlenecks.
ClubCorp selected UC4 for a proof-of-concept and even with our thousands of jobs, the UC4 Workload Automation Suite ran smoothly.
UC4 allows ClubCorp to provide management, customers, engineering, operational and development staff with all processing services required to support the business. It also enables ClubCorp to make available historical, current, and forecasted information for data updates, all while handling thousands of jobs.
