Can customers run both Oracle Linux Manager and OS Management Hub?

Yes, but not on the same systems. Both Oracle Linux Manager server and the OS Management Hub can be run simultaneously, but customers should not manage the same system with both solutions at the same time. It is expected that customers will only run both solutions for a short migration period while transitioning managed systems from Oracle Linux Manager to OS Management Hub.

How do I get OS Management Hub to manage Oracle Linux systems on-premises and on supported third-party cloud providers?

Customers are entitled to OS Management Hub when they license Oracle Linux Support (Basic or Premier) to manage Oracle Linux systems on-premises and on supported third-party cloud providers.

What versions of Oracle Linux does OS Management Hub support for on-premises and on supported third-party cloud providers?

OS Management Hub supports Oracle Linux 7, 8, and 9 on-premises and on supported third-party cloud providers.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Can customers run both Oracle OS Management Service and OS Management Hub?

Yes, but not on the same systems. Both OS Management Service and OS Management Hub service can be run simultaneously, but customers should not manage the same system with both solutions at the same time. It is expected that customers will only run both solutions for a short migration period while transitioning managed systems from OS Management Service to OS Management Hub.

How do I get OS Management Hub to manage Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows Server systems in OCI?

Customers can use OS Management Hub with OCI Compute subscriptions for no additional charge.

What versions of Oracle Linux does OS Management Hub support for managing OCI systems?

Oracle Linux 6, 7, 8, and 9 are supported on OCI.

What versions of Microsoft Windows Server does OS Management Hub support for managing OCI systems?

Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 are supported on OCI, both Standard and Datacenter editions.

Does OS Management Hub replace OS Management Service?

Yes. OS Management Service reaches end of life on April 23, 2025, and will no longer be available after that date. OS Management Hub provides an improved user experience with new features, including patch deployments through lifecycle stages, enhanced job scheduling, and reporting capabilities.

We recommend customers start using OS Management Hub to manage new instances and migrate instances currently managed by OS Management Service to OS Management Hub. OS Management Hub can manage instances on OCI, on-premises, and on supported third-party cloud providers.
