Oracle Accessibility Conformance Report

VPAT® Version 2.0 - October 2017

Name of Product:

Oracle Solaris Cluster (updated) 4.3

Product Description:

This is a new version of Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.x, for Oracle Solaris 11.

Oracle Solaris Cluster provides two user interfaces. The principal UI is the command-line interface (CLI) which provides access to all features of the product including installation and configuration. Since version 4.2 the product includes a browser-based Graphical User Interface (GUI). The GUI provides access to most daily management operations of the core product, but not yet to the complete CLI feature set.  In version 4.3 the GUI has been extended to enable creation/configuration of a cluster, support for the Geographic Edition disaster-recovery orchestration feature as well as extended wizard support for the Oracle OVM server for SPARC, and Oracle Solaris zone agent. It also includes the wizard for installation.

The 4.3 release also contains minor bug fixes and the following additional new features:

  • Timeout Threshold Warning for RGM Method Execution and Monitor Probe
  • Support for DLMP (datalink multi-pathing)
  • ZFS snapshot replication support for Failover zpools for OSC Geographic Edition
  • Support of Golden Gate Replication with OSC Geographic Edition
  • Support for Solaris kernel zones live migration by the HA for Solaris Zones agent
  • A number of additional agents are added, including ASAP, IBM Websphere Message Queue 8.0, Essbase
  • Import installed Solaris Zones as nodes of a new or existing Zone Cluster

Date:

11-Jul-2019

Archive Note:

This VPAT applies to only version 4.3. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle Solaris Cluster after this. This VPAT has been superseded by Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4.

Notes:

This VPAT does not cover the following product areas:

  • The optional Solaris parallel-console (pconsole) convenience command line tool. The Solaris cssh tool could be used as an alternative.
  • GUI pop-up wizards: some single-panel and some multi-panel popups are not fully keyboard navigable after an error message is presented to the user. Bug 21615203 - "Keyboard traversal issues" is on file for this problem. Everything that can be accomplished through the GUI can also be accomplished via the CLI.
  • ADF Faces Rich Client Components other than those used directly in this product.

For the CLI the normal Solaris/shell accessibility configuration steps are appropriate.

The 4.3 GUI (official name "Oracle Solaris Cluster Manager") allows turning on/off accessibility user modes for Screen Reader, High Contrast and Large Font at the session level by Clicking on "Accessibility" from the main screen's top menu bar. 3.3.4 Error Prevention (Legal, Financial, Data)(Level AA)Supports

CLI: actions that alter data may be reversed by performing another command to restore the previous configuration. Illegal data submitted to commands is identified and rejected with error messages printed to the terminal.

GUI: Any action that adds, deletes, or alters system data is either preceded by a confirmation or is reversible by performing another action (delete, add, alter) that will restore the system to the original state. To the extent possible, user provided data is verified before submission to perform an action.
