Commitment to the Social Value Model

Government purchasing has huge potential to unlock benefits beyond the work being procured, and Oracle welcomes the Government’s work to strengthen social value in its procurement processes. The Social Value Model offers an outcomes-based approach and a framework for measuring social value, both of which we believe are critical to delivering social value.

Oracle pursues the highest standards of corporate responsibility and is committed to aligning closely with the five themes covered in the evaluation model: COVID-19 Recovery, Tackling Economic Inequality, Fighting Climate Change, Equal Opportunity, and Wellbeing.

Our Priorities

Wellbeing

Health and wellbeing are the cornerstones of a thriving business. ‘My Wellbeing, My Life’ is Oracle UK’s wellness programme, open to all Oracle UK employees. The programme is geared to encouraging vitality, a healthy quality of life, and a positive working environment in which people thrive.

Our priority is to be proactive, so employees can gain awareness, education, and support to successfully function at work and at home, free from factors which may negatively impact upon their health.

Fighting climate change

At Oracle, we are united in our drive to combat climate change. Every day, we collaborate with our many stakeholders to make a positive, sustainable environmental impact. This includes minimising our carbon footprint, investing in renewable energy, and engaging with our people to maximise their collective impact on our operations.

Oracle’s 2025 environmental goals include:

  • Reducing absolute emissions by 26%
  • Lowering emissions per unit of energy consumed by 55%
  • Decreasing our use of potable water per square foot and waste-to-landfill per square foot by 33%

Together, we can build a resilient future for our planet, its people, and its future generations.

Equal opportunity

Oracle believes that innovation starts with inclusion. To create the future, we are building a workplace where everyone is ambitious for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions, and where people understand and act positively upon the important relationship between health, work, and disability.

We are also committed to increasing the number of high quality applicants, to create a workforce that reflects the diverse range of customers we serve and the community in which it operates.

All work should be fair and decent, and everyone, regardless of where they live in the UK or which sector they work in, should be able to benefit from high quality jobs.

Tackling Economic Inequality

Social purpose is woven into Oracle’s fabric. Our overriding vision is to help lower the unequal distribution of income and opportunity between different groups in society.

We are generating employment and training opportunities, especially for those who face barriers to employment and for people in industries with known skills shortages. Oracle is also supporting educational attainment, including training schemes that address skills gaps and result in recognised qualifications.
