Oracle PeopleSoft Selective Adoption is a lifecycle process used to apply maintenance and new features to PeopleSoft Applications. With Selective Adoption, PeopleSoft regularly delivers new maintenance and features and customers choose what to apply and when to apply it. This gives the customer greater flexibility and lets PeopleSoft deliver new features and product enhancements all the time. There are a number of applications and utilities delivered with PeopleTools that are used with the Selective Adoption Lifecycle Management process. They are: PeopleSoft Update Image - A PeopleSoft Update Image, also referred to as PI, is available to download on My Oracle Support. It is a fully contained PeopleSoft Application that includes all of the latest application patches and features. A PI can be used to create a change package or for non-production purposes such as conference room demos, checking out the latest features, training environments, and reproducing incidents. PeopleSoft Update Manager - PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) is a PIA based product that is delivered with each PeopleSoft Update Image. With PUM, a user selects the maintenance and new features to apply to their system. A change package definition is created that includes all selections and any dependencies necessary to apply the maintenance. PeopleSoft Update Manager Dashboard - The PeopleSoft Update Manager Dashboard is available in each PI. Once a PI has been connected to a target system, the dashboard shows a set of analytics used to describe the level of maintenance that has been applied to the target. |
