What are Deductions?

When a payment is made less than the invoiced amount, the shortfall is a Deduction. Deductions can be treated as a short payment on an invoice, or a debit on cash remittance. Customers commonly take Deductions as a result of pre-agreed promotions / rebates; issues in shipping, pricing or compliance; or other reasons.
