Charon SSP/4U emulates a SPARC V9 system on Intel X86_64 architecture / Oracle Linux and is certified on Oracle x86 Systems and in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Support Status Virtualized Environments
Oracle has not certified Oracle Solaris on 3rd party virtualization environments. Oracle will only
provide support for issues that either are known to occur on a certified native platform, or can be
demonstrated not to be a result of running in the virtualized environment.
If a problem is encountered with Oracle Solaris on a 3rd party virtualization platform, Oracle support will
recommend an appropriate solution for the native platform. If the proposed solution does not work in
the virtualized environment, the customer will be referred to the virtualization vendor for support.
If the proposed Oracle solution can be shown not to work when running on a certified native platform,
Oracle will resume support, including logging a bug with Oracle Development for investigation if required.
