What's Notable and Different in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence

For new features and release announcements, see What's Notable and Different in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence.

Deprecated and New BI View Objects in Oracle BI Cloud Connector

Business Intelligence View Objects (BIVOs) that are deprecated are no longer available for extraction using BI Cloud Connector (BICC).

If you use BICC to extract data from Oracle Fusion Applications Cloud, review the Deprecated and New BI View Objects spreadsheets to identify deprecated, inactive, and new BIVOs so that you can revise your BICC tasks to omit deprecated BIVOs and include new ones as appropriate.

Extensibility

Updated Oracle Visual Builder Studio

Here are some key things you can now do to extend your application pages using Visual Builder Studio:

  • Use the simple-to-use interface known as Express mode, which helps you tailor your Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM pages so you can present your end users with only the data they need.
  • Add slots to a fragment where users can drop in their own content.
  • Use the new service backend enhancement that simplifies the task of managing server connection attributes, especially credentials across environments.
  • Specify your own service name for easier identification.
  • Use the enhanced payload for the vbBeforeExit event.
  • Use the improved usability in the Action Chains editor
    • Use the new List view in the Actions palette of the Action Chains editor to view available actions alphabetically in each category.
    • Use the Surround With options in an action's right-click menu to wrap the action in an If or Try-Catch action.
    • Use Code Insight to reference scoped artifacts and local variables.
  • Undo and redo multiple actions in the Designer in one shot.
  • Use the enhanced application auditing.

User Experience

Some New Territories Are Added to the Territory List on Your Set Preferences Work Area

Some new territories are now added to the list of territories on the General Preferences: Regional page of the Set Preferences work area.

Updated Oracle ADF Desktop Integration Add-In

You can now download the latest version of the Oracle ADF Desktop Integration add-in, version 5.1.4.26262. Here are some key things you get with this version:

  • The new digital certificate.
  • Reduced number of toggling screen updates during RowDownSync component action, which improves performance of some dialog boxes.
  • Improved diagnostic logging.
  • Updated translations.
  • The new version for ADFdi client health check, version 1.8.3.

NOTE: In a future release of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, the Oracle ADF Desktop Integration Excel add-in installer will check for and require the WebView2 Runtime as a prerequisite. You may already have WebView2 installed, especially if you use Excel from Microsoft 365 Apps (Office 365). If you don’t have WebView2 installed currently, you’re encouraged to evaluate and install WebView2 as soon as possible. For more information, see C Embedded Browsers.

Position Hierarchy Routing Delegates to Other Users Based on Vacation Rules

When users go on vacation, they can define vacation rules so that when they’re out of office, tasks can be reassigned or delegated. If you’re using a Position list builder to route workflow tasks, when a user with a position that’s been assigned a task has an active vacation rule, the rule takes effect as long as there are five or less users in that position, and the task is reassigned or delegated.
