Column Definitions:
Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.
UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.
UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.
Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.
Ready for Use by End Users Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features. |
Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing. |

Oracle Absence Management is a configurable and flexible global solution that enables organizations to manage absences of their workforce. The framework provides ability to define both complex and diverse absence plans. It integrates with the Oracle Cloud Global Payroll and Time and Labor products and provides dedicated work areas for the roles of Administrator and Employees. Simplified user interface is provided for employees’ absence data entry.
Security Uptake for Recent Search Option
The recent search option in the Time and Absences pages displays a list of all employees recently searched by managers and administrators sharing a common device. Now, managers and administrators are restricted from accessing the Time and Absences pages of employees they don’t have access to.
If a manager or administrator tries to select a page for an employee they don’t have access to, the application will display an error message telling them to make another selection since they don’t have access to the Time and Absences pages for this employee. Previously, they could access the Time and Absences pages for any employee from the recent search option irrespective of them having access to it or not.
Managers and administrators can now only access the Time and Absences pages of those employees that they have access to. If they try to access the Time and Absence pages of employees they don't have access to, the application displays an error message.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Accrual Process Recognition of Reduced Balance Limits
When an employee changes their status from full-time to part-time, the accrual plan ceiling limit often changes to a lower limit. The employee is now allowed to accrue a lower amount, even though the balance at the time of the status change might be higher than the ceiling plan limit. The application will now recognize this status change, and when the calculate accruals process is run for this employee, the application will only generate an accrual when the balance falls below the new ceiling limit.
For example, let’s assume a full-time employee has an accrual plan ceiling limit of 250 hours and a plan balance of 200 hours. They decide to change their status to part-time which has an accrual plan ceiling limit of 150 hours. In this case when you run the calculate accruals process, the application will generate a zero-accrual record with the new reduced ceiling limit. The balance of 200 hours that they had when they were a full-time employee will remain the same even after they become a part-time employee. The balance can exceed the new reduced accrual plan ceiling limit. A new accrual amount will only be generated once the balance falls below the accrual limit.
After the accrual plan ceiling is reduced for an employee, any other absence transaction such as an adjustment, transfer, or donation will error out if the total balance exceeds the new balance limit. In case of a global transfer for the employee, the initial balance will be retained from the old entity with a new balance limit. Similarly, if the employee is terminated with balance reinstatement enabled and their balance limit is reduced during the termination period, the new balance limit will be in place upon reinstatement. They will retain their initial balance from before termination, and the accrual process will only generate a new accrual once the balance falls below the new plan ceiling limit.
The calculate accruals process will now take into consideration the change in status of an employee from full-time to part-time. The process will generate a new accrual only when the balance falls below the new reduced balance limit.

REPLACED OR REMOVED FEATURES
From time to time, Oracle replaces existing Cloud service features with new features or removes existing features. When a feature is replaced the older version may be removed immediately or at a future time. As a best practice, you should use the newer version of a replaced feature as soon as the newer version is available.
