Personalize Saved Searches for Yourself or for Your Organization

Many HCM pages such as Team Compensation, Team Time Cards, or Team Schedule deliver a set of filter criteria associated to a delivered saved search out-of-the-box. You can personalize the filter criteria for yourself or for your organization. To personalize for your organization, you need to activate a sandbox and enable the Page Composer tool. This requires you to have the Human Capital Management Application Administrator job role.

All users can personalize the filter criteria associated with the default saved search for themselves. For example, you can personalize the filter criteria from My Team > Team Time Cards.

Show Filters

Here’s how you personalize a saved search for yourself.

  1. Click the Personalize Filters icon in the Filters region.
  2. Select the criteria you need.
  3. Click Save in the Personalize Saved Search: Pending Approval dialog box.
  4. Click Save in the Saved Search region to create a new saved search.

You can see here that out-of-box the department filter appears after the line manager filter.

Personalize Saved Search Available for All Users

If you're a functional administrator having the Human Capital Management Application Administrator role, you can see more options when you access the same pages. You can do these actions.

  • Personalize the filter criteria for yourself, and
  • Personalize the filter criteria for others using the Configure for Others option. As an organization, you may prefer to set your own saved searches and associated filter criteria that make sense for your business. The saved searches become available to all users eliminating the need for individual users to configure it themselves, thereby saving time. Any configuration changes for others are applied at the site level meaning it's applicable for the whole organization.

Personalize Saved Search Available for Functional Administrators

Here’s how you personalize the filter criteria for others.

  1. Click the Personalize Filters icon in the Filters region.
  2. Click Configure for Others.
  3. Enable a unified sandbox.

  1. Add the Page Composer tool in your unified sandbox

  1. Select the filter criteria that’s applicable for your organization in the Personalize Saved Search: Pending Approval dialog box.
  2. Click Save in the Personalize Saved Search: Pending Approval dialog box.
  3. Click Save in the Saved Search region to create a new saved search.

  1. Rename the proposed saved search name and mark it as default.

  1. Test your changes before publishing the sandbox.

The new filter criteria are now available to all users who can access the personalized page. Note that department is now hidden in the Filters region but it’s still available in the Personalize Saved Search: Pending Your Approval dialog box.

For it to work, you must add autocomplete suggestions to the skill’s intents. Then, whenever the user types a character in the input, the intents’ autocomplete suggestions display in a popup to suggest the best format and to minimize user errors. The HCM skills includes predefined autosuggestions to help facilitate accurate utterances.
  • Extending Digital Assistants and Skills with Rebasing - In addition to being able extend HCM skills, you can now extend any digital assistant that you pull from the Skill Store and then later rebase that digital assistant to take advantage of updates to the original.

Enhancements to the Human Capital Management Approval Rules Page

Now users are able to route their approvals to the supervisor hierarchy that belongs to the assignment from which the transaction was initiated.

Prior to this enhancement, users were only able to send approval notifications through the management hierarchy of the worker's primary assignment. Now, users will also have the flexibility to use the management hierarchy of the worker's assignment for which the transaction is initiated. This is especially useful when workers have multiple or nonprimary assignment transactions.

In the Transaction Console > Approval Rules page, for the Management Hierarchy approval group, users can now specify either a primary or current assignment hierarchy. Select Worker or Worker's Current Line Manager in the Approval Chain Of field in combination with the Assignment Type:

HCM Data Loader Removed or Replaced Features

From time to time, Oracle replaces existing features with new features, or removes existing features. Replaced features may be put on a path of removal, the features below will let you know what update you will have to have moved to the newer feature.

As a best practice, you should move to the newer feature as soon as possible for full support and to stay up with the latest updates that the product offers. Any feature that is removed, will have an Update in which that feature is no longer available. Please make necessary plans to move off the feature by the Update indicated, as it will no longer be available.

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader

HCM Data Loader provides a flexible and efficient method of bulk loading business object data for data-migration and on-going incremental updates to Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud.

Secured Business Objects Now Available to Business Users

Extend your business users' bulk-loading capabilities for an object. Spreadsheets based on these objects now implement the user's data security and can be shared with business users.

  • Worker
  • External Bank Account
  • HCM Group

Steps to Enable

When creating a new spreadsheet template, the template security automatically defaults to the setting where data is uploaded as the session user. For existing templates based on these objects, you can update the template configuration and set the user type to session user

Once you configure the user type for a template as the session user, you can then assign which job roles have access to the template and configure what data set operations they can perform.

HCM Extract

HCM Extracts provide a method for extracting data from your HCM applications that can be used for interfacing data to another source or extracting data to integrate reporting across systems.

HCM Extracts Diagnostics Report

You can now run diagnostics on an HCM Extracts definition to generate a report on the design recommendations, missing or incorrect design choices, and take corrective actions. You can also run diagnostics for a specific HCM Extracts run to identify the phase-wise timing for these processes and recommendations to improve the process time for subsequent runs.

From Home>Tools>Scheduled Processes, search for the Extracts Process Diagnostics Report process in the Scheduled Processes work area. This process generates diagnostics information for a specific HCM Extracts process. For the design-time diagnostics of an extracts definition, use the new scope, Design Time Diagnostics and select the extract as scope value and then submit the job.

Scheduling the Extracts Process Diagnostics Report Process for the Design Time Diagnostics Scope

NOTE: Design-time diagnostics can be generated for customer-defined extract definitions, while runtime diagnostics can be generated for any extract instance.

After it’s complete and successful, review the log and report for extract details in the Information section, dependencies, warnings, and potential solutions in the report section.

Process Results

NOTE: Design-time diagnostics can be generated for customer defined extract definitions, while runtime diagnostics can be generated for any extract instance.

The report that provides recommendations for improving and optimizing the Extracts design. Some of the items include:

  • Usage of RESET UEs in the extracts definition
  • Threading DBI usage for incremental and changes-only extracts
  • Usage of historic UEs in threading data groups
  • Delivery options and the associated BIP reports, if any
  • Design practices that are commonly seen to impact extracts performance including usage of advanced conditions, override conditions, and record the sort order

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

You can also run the process for Design Time Diagnostics scope from the Validation region in the Extracts Definitions page of the Data Exchange work area.

ORACLE DECOMMISSIONED THE HCM CLASSIC SIMPLIFIED USER INTERFACE IN UPDATE 20B

The new and redesigned HCM Responsive User Experience has been available and promoted as our standard since Update 18B. If you are still using the older HCM Classic Simplified User Interface, please begin transitioning to the HCM Responsive User Experience.

For information, video links and next steps, please see Document ID 2399671.1 - HCM Responsive User Experience Setup Information

Highlights of New User Interface:

We’ve taken the employee and manager self-service pages to the next level by redesigning them to look and behave the same on desktop and mobile devices. We’ve also changed the look and feel of the pages to provide a better experience for end users.

Pages and messages look more modern and use simpler, more conversational language so that you can more easily read and understand content across all devices. The pages are clutter-free and clean and display only those fields that are required to complete the task. You can personalize the pages and add more fields that are hidden by default. For most self-service tasks, you’re asked what you want to do, and the task is broken down into a series of steps based on your choice.
