Optional Uptake of New Features (Opt In)
Oracle Cloud Applications delivers new updates every quarter. This means every three months you'll receive new functionality to help you efficiently and effectively manage your business. Some features are delivered Enabled meaning they are immediately available to end users. Other features are delivered Disabled meaning you have to take action to make available. Features delivered Disabled can be activated for end users by stepping through the following instructions:
Access the Opt In page from the New Features Work Area
- Click the Navigator, and then click New Features (under the My Enterprise heading)
- On the New Features page, select the offering that includes new features you’d like to review
- Click Go to Opt In for any feature you want to opt in
- On the Edit Features page, select the Enable option for the feature, and then click Done
Opt In Expiration
Occasionally, features delivered Disabled via Opt In may be enabled automatically in a future update. This is known as an Opt In Expiration. If your cloud service has any Opt In Expirations you will see a related tab in this document. Click on that tab to see when the feature was originally delivered Disabled, and when the Opt In will expire, potentially automatically enabling the feature. You can also click here to see features with Opt In Expirations across all Oracle Cloud Applications.
Column Definitions:
Features Delivered Enabled
Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.
UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.
UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.
Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.
Ready for Use by End Users Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features. |
Action is Needed BEFORE Use by End Users Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing. |

Search and Sort Product Lines Using Improved User Interface
Previously, the interface provided limited support for handling a large number of product lines. When you have hundreds of product lines defined in the system, it can be difficult to find what you need without the ability to search for lines and sort through them.
Previous UI for Assign Item to Product Lines
With this update, an improved interface provides a table view with filtering and sorting capabilities to help you identify which product line is already assigned to an item, and to assign a product line to an item quickly. You can easily handle a large set of product lines, ensure faster processing, and maintain high data quality.
Actions you can perform in the new table view:
- Query by Example
- Sorting
- Detach
- Show or Hide columns

As a supplier, you can select a change order, click the Publish icon, and then select which change order entities you want to publish. If you opt to publish attachments, you have the option to include attachment files. The Publish action is privilege-controlled.

Set Maximum Limit for Affected Objects or Items
Configure a maximum limit for the number of affected objects and items allowed on a single change order or new item request. To improve performance, you can also elect to split the affected objects or items into multiple change orders or new item requests at the specified limit.
If you exceed the limit set for affected objects when adding them through the UI, an error message appears. You can then split the affected objects to a different change order.
During the change order import, you can choose whether to split the change order. This feature works in conjunction with the following groupings during import: One per Item Batch with the Create new option, and One per Item Class.
If you choose to split the change order (during the import), the affected objects are added to a new change order. This helps to streamline the import.
If you choose not to split the change order, then a message appears listing the maximum limit for affected objects and the objects you can still add.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Use improved history tracking on a change order or a change request to view the approvers who were added and the approval actions that were taken.
The action log of the change now records who was added as an approver, by whom, and when. You can also audit who performed the approval action and when the action was performed.
If an individual user approves, you'll see an entry 'Approved by an approver'. If all required approvers have approved and the change order or change request is approved, you'll see an entry 'Approved by the application'. Similar entries appear for rejection as well.
