Access SCM Application Pages Using Quick Actions
In this update, Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud delivers new quick actions that provide easy navigation from the home page directly to specific application pages without using the menu structure. With a single click, you can initiate tasks from the home page.
Each tab group on the home page displays an initial set of quick actions that are based on your function security privileges. The actions available to you are controlled by the job roles you're assigned. Click Show More to see all of the quick actions that are available to you in that tab group:
Quick Actions on the Home Page for the Supply Chain Execution Tab Group
Quick actions are automatically available if your environment has a theme that includes the news feed layout on the home page. See the Tips and Considerations section for additional details.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- To see quick actions, your environment must have a theme that includes the news feed layout on the home page, such as the Redwood theme, which was the default theme as of update 20C. If your administrator created and applied a configured theme to your environment, however, the Redwood theme won’t override your configured theme. Administrators can use the Themes page of the Appearance work area to manage environment themes.
- Users who are assigned the predefined Application Implementation Consultant job role, or a similar configured job role, can perform selected configurations of the Quick Action links. For details and instructions, see Configure Quick Actions on the Oracle Help Center.
Configure Color by Measure to Display in a Graph
When you configure graphs, sometimes you want to have a consistent color for a specific measure in your graphs. For example, if you have multiple graphs that display the forecast, it can help you and other planners who use the graphs to quickly identify the forecast measure if the same color is used for the measure in all of the graphs. Previously, the measure color was automatically selected.
To select a graph color for a specific measure for all graphs, select the graph color on the Edit Measure page.
Graph Color Field on the Edit Measure Page (Navigation: Manage Planning Measures > Select a measure > Edit Measure)
To add a graph color for a specific measure for a specific graph, select the graph color for the measure on the Format Measures page.
Graph Color Column on the Format Measures Page (Navigation: When viewing a graph or table, click View Menu > Select Format Measures)
If a graph color has been configured for a measure for all graphs, but you want the graph color assigned automatically for that measure for a specific graph, then select the Assign Graph Color Automatically option on the Format Measures page.
Assign Graph Color Automatically Column on the Format Measures Page (Navigation: When viewing a graph or table, click View Menu > Select Format Measures)
Improve consistency when viewing the same measure in multiple graphs and highlight the impact of the measure.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- You may have to change which color you select for a measure. If the color you configure for a measure is the same color as one of the colors automatically assigned to a measure in a specific graph, then you have to select a different color for the measure you're configuring.
- In bar, line and radar graphs, a measure must be the only one located in the Y-Axis to display the configured graph color.
- Plan Comparison: The configured measure color in the graph is honored for only the measure itself and not for measures that represent the compared plans.
- Archive Plan: When using Waterfall Analysis or Trend Analysis graphs, the configured measure color is honored for only the measure itself and not for the measures that represent the archive.
- Export and Import: Graph color settings are kept when exporting and importing a measure from different environments.
Key Resources

Stop Forecast Generation on Product Discontinuation Date
Rapidly changing markets require nimble responses from supply chain organizations in the context of product lifecycle decisions, such as launching new products or discontinuing existing products. With this update, you can specify these decisions in Oracle Cloud Demand Management so that the correct demand signals respecting these dates are generated.
You can use new discontinuation date measures to stop forecasting at the end of a product's life cycle. These measures include the Discontinuation Date, Adjusted Discontinuation Date, and Final Discontinuation Date measures. As a planner, you can:
- Select a discontinuation date measure for the new DiscontinuationDateMeasure parameter.
- Load the Discontinuation Date for product and organizations from an external source, modify the Adjusted Discontinuation Date in a table, or both.
The Demand Planning process will stop generating a forecast from the discontinuation date onward.
Enhance the management of forecasts by considering product discontinuation date.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- There's no measure selected by default for the new DiscontinuationDateMeasure parameter.
- When selecting a measure, the selected measure must have the same dimensionality as the output measure in the forecast profile excluding the time dimension.
- The selected measure must be enabled in same work areas as selected in forecast profile.
- If the selected measure contains null value for discontinuation date, then the forecast will get generated for entire forecast horizon.
- Discontinue date is respected at the lowest level in forecast tree.
- When discontinue date falls in the middle of a time period, the date will be aligned to beginning of the period.
- New measures Adjusted Launch Date and Final Launch Date were added for launch date feature.

Maintain optimum inventory levels at each node of your supply chain to meet customer service targets at the lowest inventory cost. Use automated processes to maintain inventory policy parameters and improve customer service levels. These automated processes dynamically update the inventory to keep on hand and reduce costs by calculating the economic order quantity for replenishment when appropriate.
After you opt in to the feature named Replenishment Planning, you can use the features described in this section.
Load Planning Data for a Selected Group of Organizations
In many companies the frequency and timing of the supply and demand data collection processes can’t be coordinated across functional organization boundaries. Previously, supply and demand data loaded using file-based data import (FBDI) with the targeted refresh option would wipe out the data for the other organizations whose data was not in the file. With this update, the data for only those organizations that are in the load file will be purged prior to the load of the new data.
Ensure supply and demand data integrity in Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Planning by organization when using the targeted refresh data load option.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Use Transit Lead Time in Inventory Policy Computations
A key component of an inventory policy calculation is demand over lead time. The lead time directly affects your total inventory levels. The longer your lead time, the more stock you will need to hold in your inventory. Lead time, an important factor for customer satisfaction, includes preprocessing, processing, postprocessing, and transit lead times. Prior to this update, only item-level lead times (preprocessing, processing, and postprocessing), not transit lead times, were considered in the demand over lead time calculations.
With this update, the lead times used in computation of demand over lead time:
- Transfer orders: the sum of preprocessing, transit, and postprocessing lead times
- Purchase orders: the sum of preprocessing, processing, transit, and postprocessing lead times
The transit lead times used are defined in the sourcing rule for the transfer orders and purchase orders. This calculation will be the default behavior enabled.
Use the same lead time information for inventory policy calculations and replenishment order generation.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Specify Service Levels for Segments for Safety Stock Calculations
To hedge against demand variability, you may want to specify the service level safety stock parameter for a grouping of items. Previously, you could define this parameter at an individual item level or for the entire plan, but not for the intermediate level which is a group of items. With this update, you can segment your items based on your business rules and specify the safety stock service levels for each of the item segments.
Control safety stock polices at a more granular level by specifying service levels for various segments which results in:
- Minimizing the risk of stockout in the event of unexpected demand
- Improving order fill rate
- Decreasing lost sales by satisfying demand on time
Steps to Enable
- In the Supply Planning work area, create segment groups, segments, and policy assignment sets using their corresponding tasks:
- Create Segment Groups and Execute Segmentation using the Manage Segment Groups and Criteria task.
- Create Segments for the Segment Group in Create Segment Group using the Manage Segment Groups and Criteria task.
- Create a Supply Planning Policy Assignment Set using the Manage Supply Planning Policy Assignment Sets task.
- Select the Segments associated to the Segment Group.
- Specify the Service Level Percentage for the Segments in the Policy Assignment Set.
- In the Supply Planning work area, Safety Stock tab for the plan options for your plan, set the following options:
- Select the Apply policy overrides check box.
- Select a value for the the Policy Assignment Set field.
Tips And Considerations
Consider the following when you plan safety stock based on service level by segment:
- Appropriate segmentation of items with their required service level percentage in order to achieve higher customer satisfaction as a result of higher order fill rate.

Plan and analyze your supply chain using configured attributes specific to your business needs, such as country of origin. Forecast for demand qualified by these attributes. Configure attributes and attribute netting rules in a supply plan so that only qualified supply, based on attributes of inventory, purchase orders, transfer orders, or work order supplies, is used to satisfy demand. Generate planned orders for these attributes at any level of your supply chain.
After you opt in to the feature named Attribute-Based Planning, you can use the features in this section.
Map and Collect Supply Demand Entities with User-Defined Attributes
The first step in attribute-based planning is to collect the supply and demand data that is striped by attributes such as country of origin. In many cases, these attributes are configured for various supply and demand transactions for your company’s specific business needs using descriptive flexfields or extensible flexfields.
Because there might not be a normalized structure across the various supply chain transactions so that a single attribute has the same meaning, Oracle Cloud Supply Planning enables you to create a planning attribute and map a descriptive flexfield, extensible flexfield, or selected standard attribute to that attribute. For example, you can create a planning attribute called Grade and map the descriptive flexfield or extensible flexfield holding the data that is related to grade on sales orders, work orders, transfer orders, and purchase orders to this planning attribute. 15 attributes are available for mapping of which 3 are reserved for project group, project, and task. The attributes can be of the text data type or numeric data type.
Comprehensively collect and map data in the planning system in the context of a planning attribute.

In a variety of enterprises, only a subset of supplies of an item can be used to satisfy the demand for the same item. The typical approach is to stripe the supplies and demands by attributes. For example, the on-hand inventory lots would be striped by the product grade. So, only the on-hand lots that match the grade requirements can be used to satisfy demand. The goal of the planning in this environment is to ensure that your specific rules are honored. With this update, you can configure your own rules that govern the supply and demand netting. The rules framework enables you to specify the following:
- The attributes that are to be used in a plan out of the 15 available attributes.
- The attributes to be used to group demand when netting, and the time bucket for grouping.
- The attributes that the new planned orders will be striped by when supply exceeds demand.
- The conditions to be used to match supply and demand. Logical conditions such as in, or equal to can be specified. Example of a rule: if demand attribute GRADE in (A, B), then supply attribute GRADE matches demand value.
- The product segments that these rules are applicable for. A rule can be applied to all products or a subset of products. The item segments are defined using the segmentation feature available in supply planning cloud.
All of the standard functionality available in unconstrained planning, such as lead time, order modifiers, time fences, and exceptions, are available to be deployed when using this rules framework. The days of cover safety stock method is available for your use. If you use this method, then the plan will generate supply recommendations as a whole for the item and isn’t at an individual item-attribute value combination level.
Generate a plan that obeys your business specific attribute netting rules while simultaneously honoring your customer on-time delivery commitments.

One of the most important day-to-day activities for planners is to analyze and isolate supply-and-demand imbalances, and then rectify them. If you’re planning in the context of attributes, then the plan needs to be analyzed with the attribute information most applicable to your business. Supply planning makes your configured planning attributes available for analysis as independent dimensions and available for use in any of the planning tables. Existing measures, such as Total Supply, can also be configured for analysis using these dimensions.
NOTE: This feature also enables analysis of a plan by project group, project, and task for a plan that is enabled for project-driven supply planning.

Synchronize Availability Data for Contract Manufacturers with Constrained Supply
As is the case with many enterprises, you may be enhancing your strategic relationships with your contract manufacturers to get access to upstream inventory, production, and movement data. Better external supply visibility reduces the need to carry just-in-case inventory and helps reduce risk and cost across the supply chain. With this update, your external organizations can digitally synchronize their end item and component on-hand balances, purchase order details, work order demands, work order supplies, and work order resources with your Oracle Cloud Supply Planning to enhance end-to-end supply visibility.
With these details, multitier supply plans can identify upstream planning issues, including consideration of material and capacity constraints, while proactively mitigating any issues identified by using alternatives, such as offload to substitutes or alternate sources as needed.

Compress Purchasing Lead Times for Orders Within the Lead Time
It's desirable for the planning application to compress purchasing lead times when required so that the planner is aware of the exception situations and proactively take mitigation actions. Previously, if the enforce purchasing lead time item attribute is set to No, then the planning application would compress the lead times of all planned orders for this item. Lead time was a hard constraint if the enforce purchasing lead time attribute is set to Yes.
With this update, the purchasing lead times is now a soft constraint applicable if the enforce purchasing lead time attribute is set to No. In other words, the planned order lead times are only compressed if within lead time, otherwise the planned order dates are offset considering the lead times.
This change ensures that you can release supply plan orders in time for the supplier to fulfill the orders.

Prioritize Constrained Products with Higher Prices Based on Exchange Rates
When available supply is less than demand, Oracle Cloud Sales and Operations Planning will prioritize supply allocation to the product categories with higher global revenues to maximize overall enterprise revenue.
With this update, revenues of product categories priced in the local organization currencies of their respective countries can be considered uniformly by converting the local currencies into one base currency using currency conversion rates.
If you want conversion performed for your plan, then select the Consider currency conversions rates to plan revenue option in the Revenue Currency Parameters section of the Supply: Advanced Options dialog. And then specify the conversion type and the base currency code.
Configure Revenue Currency Parameters in Plan Options (Navigation: Edit Plan Options > Supply tab > Select Advanced Options button)
Accurately prioritize your limited supply to product demands that generate the best sales and operations plan.
Steps to Enable
