Warehouse Management

Inbound Logistics

Prevent Creation of Multi-SKU LPNs During RF Split Inbound LPN

For businesses that only want a single SKU to be packed into an LPN, users now can receive an alert when performing RF Split Inbound LPNs that prevents the creation of multi-SKU LPNs.

Inventory Operations

Manage Movement Requests in New UI

Movements Requests allow you to request an internal material movement between stock locations within a facility.  When using Warehouse Management in a manufacturing facility, movement requests can be used to pick items and drop them to an assembly area for manufacturing work orders.  Movement requests may also be created to initiate a movement to reslot material, move recalled lots to a hold area,  or to move material on an exception basis (e.g. spill, broken refrig/freeze for cold/frozen goods, etc…).  You can configure Movement Types to distinguish between the different types of movement requests.

Movement requests may be either manually or automatically created, updated and deleted from an external inventory management system like Oracle Cloud SCM.  Integration touchpoints include Movement Request APIs and Input Interface supports XML and flat files.  Replenishment waves, allocates, and creates tasks to fulfill movement requests.  You can now configure a Replenishment Template with a Replenishment Trigger Mode of Movement Request Based Replenishment to fulfill movement requests when running replenishment.  Replenishments for Movement Requests can replenish to both permanent and dynamic, active locations.

Allow Lost LPNs to Be Consumed

Lost LPNs can be consumed in the Inbound LPN Inquiry UI or using the IBLPN Direct Consume API. In the Inbound LPN Inquiry UI, you can specify the number of days since lost for consumption to control which Lost LPNs are eligible to be consumed. A new parameter, num-days-iblpnlost-for-consume, is available to specify the number of days after which a Lost LPN is eligible to be consumed via API.

Apply/Remove Lock Codes for Multiple LPNs

Lock Codes in Oracle Warehouse Management manage whether material is available to allocate as well as other transactions that can be performed on the material such as loading and shipping. Multiple Lock Codes can be applied to LPNs. Now, you can select multiple LPNs and mass Apply/Remove Lock Codes. This improves the efficiency and productivity of inventory operations in the warehouse for Inventory Managers.

Outbound Logistics

Embed Serial Numbers in 2D Barcodes Using WMS Label Designer

The WMS Label Designer now allows you to design Outbound LPN, Outbound LPN Content, and Shipping labels that include a 2D barcode (including a QR code) that includes all of the serial numbers packed in the Outbound LPN and being shipped. The ability for 2D barcodes to compactly store more information allows the serial number detail to be included on these labels. This improves the efficiency and productivity of transacting serialized items.

Pack Multiple Inbound LPNs Into an Outbound LPN

The Pack Multiple Inbound LPNs into One OBLPN API allows you to pack multiple Inbound LPNs with Full LPN allocation into a single, cubed Outbound LPN.  Now, when you run a Wave template, the wave will allocate inventory (multiple Inbound LPNs with Full LPN allocations) against the sales orders with the same destination, to be packed into a single, cubed Outbound LPN.

Display Last Printed Timestamp for Outbound LPN Labels

To help reduce unnecessary reprinting of labels, users can now view in the Outbound LPN UI when the Outbound LPN, Outbound LPN Content, and Shipping Labels were last printed.

JSON Support for Ship Outbound Load Output Interface

When generating the Outbound Load Export in the Outbound Interface Configuration, you can now select JSON as an interface format and configure the fields that you would like to include.  Since the field selection configuration is per target, you can customize the output to only provide exactly what is needed by each consuming system. This helps to keep payload sizes low and generation speed fast.  These enhancements have the following benefits:

  • Overall payload size reduction and performance improvements
  • A more compact yet hierarchical data format - JSON
  • Reduction in redundant/repeated data (e.g. Repeating all data per serial number)

Capacity Check During RF Dynamic Staging

The RF Dynamic Staging and RF Dynamic Unloading Outbound LPN transactions perform capacity checks to ensure that the maximum units, volume, weight, dimensions, and number of LPNs is not exceeded in the staging location. Performing a capacity check to control the maximum number of LPNs in dynamic staging helps ensure a smooth movement of material in outbound operations.

WMS Mobile App

Cross Dock LPNs During Receiving in Mobile App

You can cross dock LPNs when performing receiving in the WMS Mobile App.  You can configure the following cross docking modes that performs the follow types of cross docking:

  • none;
  • LPN Nbr Xdock;
  • LPN Nbr/Single SKU Xdock,
  • LPN Nbr/Single SKU/Multi SKU Xdock facility, and
  • LPN Nbr/Single SKU/Multi-SKU Xdock.

LPN Nbr Xdock performs cross dock when the received LPN matches the LPN on an outbound order. Single SKU tries to match the received item in a single SKU LPN to an outbound order for the same item. Multi-SKU Xdock tries to match a Multi SKU LPN to an outbound order for the same items.  Multi SKU Xdock facility tries to match a Multi SKU LPN to an outbound order for the same items if it is a Facility Order for store distribution fulfillment.

Cloud SCM Integration

WMS Predefined Integration Mappings to Inventory Management for Transfer Orders

Predefined integration mappings are now available for internal material transfer requests from Oracle Inventory Management to Oracle Warehouse Management.  These Oracle designed integrations have been prebuilt using Oracle Integration Cloud.  Inventory Management sends a Shipment Request to Warehouse Management to ship material from the source facility.  Warehouse Management sends a Shipment Confirmation to Inventory Management after shipping the material.  Inventory Management then sends a Receipt Advice to Warehouse Management to expect the inbound shipment at the destination facility, which can include the details of the lot and serial numbers packed into the cartons.  Warehouse Management sends a Receipt Confirmation after receiving the internal material transfer at the destination facility.

Transfer Orders Flow

Changes to WMS Predefined Integration Mappings to Inventory Management for Sales Orders for Serialized Items

When Warehouse Management ships sales orders, the WMS predefined integration mappings to Inventory Management now send multiple serial numbers packed in a LPN in a single shipment confirmation message (SLS).  This streamlines the number of shipment confirmation messages sent for serialized items.  These changes to the shipment confirmation for serialized items  have also been delivered in the new WMS predefined integration mappings to Inventory Management for transfer orders.
