Feature Summary

Column Definitions:

Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.

UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.

UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.

Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.

Ready for Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Enabled)

Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features.

Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users
(Feature Delivered Disabled)

Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing.

Bulk Remove Attributes Page

With this new feature, you can save time by assigning or removing attributes to or from person profiles in bulk.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

When you create a tag, you specify whether its type is General or Service Hold. Only General type tags can be assigned in bulk.

To be able to assign the attribute tag to a person, the tag must be associated with a Person Attribute tag group.

Access Requirements

You need the Manage Student Management Tag Assignments (HEY_MANAGE_STUDENT_MANAGEMENT_TAG_ ASSIGNMENTS_PRIV) privilege to use this feature. Also, you need to assign the Bulk Assign and Remove Tags page to the custom role that will use this feature.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

If you created user-defined roles and assigned page access to them using the Manage Application Access task in the Setup and Maintenance work area, you must review your user-defined roles to see if you need to assign them access to the new pages, page elements, and page permissions.

Course Outcomes View

Using the Course Outcomes view, administrators can set the date when grades are released to students for each academic period. You can define release dates for both midterm and final grades. When the date to release grades  arrives, students are prompted to view their new grades.

Students can easily access both their new grades and previous grades from their Student Central page. From here they can search for grades, view them on the Grades page of their Academics tab, or act on notifications received when grades are made available.

Student Grades View

The Course Outcomes view aligns the experience for students viewing grades to be consistent with other key experiences like building their student schedule and enrolling in course sections.  Additionally, institutions get more control over when students can view both midterm and final grades.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

This feature has a partial dependency on the Manage Academic Periods feature. Registrars or other administrators must add these Academic Period Attribute Dates to academic periods.  These define the dates to release midterm and final grades to students.

  • Midterm Grade Release
  • Final Grade Release

Grades can only be viewed if they are entered, so there is also a dependency on the Enter Student Course Results feature. Final and midterm grade types are currently supported.
