New Validations for Milestone-Based Billing and Coverage
You can now check whether a coverage template has been associated with a coverage service product line before activating a subscription. In addition, when using milestone-based billing, if you delete the milestones and generate bill lines, you won't be able to activate the subscription, because a new validation checks whether you have created bill lines for the charge.
- Activating a coverage service without a coverage template means that you cannot offer any entitlements to your customer. This can be avoided by enabling this validation.
- If you are billing based on Milestones and want to ensure that charges which were intended to be billed based on Milestones do have Milestones, then this validation should be enabled.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

This way you can preempt invoice disputes by correcting invoice amounts before they're completed and sent to the customer.

Manage Allowances for Consumption based Subscription Models
Balance Management feature allows the tracking of quantity-based allowances and usages in a balance register. Users have the flexibility to configure balance codes and associate a condition to decide what usage events or allowances are considered while tracking the given balance. They can configure balance profiles to define the rule for pooling of allowances and usages, and to track all the related balances in a balance register. Allowances are tracked with effectivity dates and can optionally add a rollover period to extend the validity of allowances. During the usage rating process, it will draw-down the allowances from the respective balance register, and rate the excess usage quantity to determine the usage charge for that event.
