Column Definitions:
Features Delivered Enabled
Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.
UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.
UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.
Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.
Ready for Use by End Users Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features. |
Action is Needed BEFORE Use by End Users Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing. |

Responsys Event Notifications (REN)
Responsys Event Notifications (REN) are now available. This is an update to the Oracle Responsys Notification Service for Undelivered Transactional Emails with improved features.
Using this updated service, you can subscribe to selected events of your Responsys account to receive event notifications when the selected events occur in Responsys. These events are related to the SMS channel, Push channel, and Email channel.
Steps to Enable
To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).
Tips And Considerations
For example, you are working on a campaign and subscribe to Responsys Event Notifications. You will receive notifications for selected events, such as email bounces or failed SMS. These event notifications are sent to your authoirzed server URL. Use this information to update user data or conduct internal automation for all specific event responses.
The following new REST APIs are now available:
- Exit Enactments: We've added a new API endpoint that enables you to exit enactments from a Program. This new endpoint provides the ability to move blocked program enactments out of programs. Programs must have been published at least once, but be in an unpublished state to exit enactments.
- Retrieve Profile List Fields: The new Profile List Fields endpoint enables retrieving all fields within a profile list, including standard fields and custom fields.
- Retrieve Profile List Recipients Count with query attribute: We've added a new endpoint that enables you to retrieve the count of profile list recipients within a profile list, using query attributes to filter.
- Delete Profile List Recipients using query attribute: This new endpoint enables you to delete Profile List Recipients using query attributes to filter recipients to delete.
- Get all Filters: You can now retrieve all Filters in your Responsys account using this API endpoint.
- Get Email Domain Rules: We've added a new API endpoint that enables you to retrieve your account's Email Domain Rules.
- Get Email Footer Contents: This new API endpoint enables you to retrieve your account's Email Footer contents in text and HTML.
- New campaign status property: A new property, campaignStatus, has been added to the campaigns object to the Fetch All Campaigns endpoint. The campaignStatus property signifies the status of a campaign. Values include: "NONE", "DRAFT", "ACTIVE", or "CLOSED".
Steps to Enable
Review the REST service definition in the REST API guides, available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > REST API. If you're new to Oracle's REST services you may want to begin with the Quick Start section.

A new Facebook Custom Audiences app is now available. Using this app, you can populate and depopulate custom audiences on Facebook. This allows both the email and social strategies the potential to reach the same target audience and have a stronger overall impact to marketing initiatives.
The Facebook Custom Audience app provides you with the ability to add email address to and remove them from a Facebook custom audience as part of a larger program orchestration. This functionality is an automated process to send email addresses included in an email campaign to custom audiences on the social network for audience retargeting. Once the email address has been “hashed” it (email address) is pushed to the social network in an attempt to match the email address to a user profile on the network. If the social network can find a match to a social profile the email address/user is added to the custom audience. This user is then be placed in the target audience and will potentially see the post/ad published on the social network which is using that audience. Likewise the reverse will occur when the user selects to remove an email address from a custom audience.
Steps to Enable
To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).
Tips And Considerations
You can continue have our old Facebook Custom Audiences app installed in your Oracle Responsys instance as you transition to the new app.

Action Required: Responsys Android Push SDK Compatibility with Firebase Cloud Messaging SDK Version 20.1.1 or Later
Before you build your Android app with Firebase Cloud Messaging (firebase-messaging) / FCM SDK version 20.1.1 onwards you must upgrade to Responsys SDK version 6.45.0 or later due to a compatibility issue.
FCM SDK versions 20.1.1 or later are only compatible with the latest Responsys SDK version 6.45.0, which will become available in early June 2020. Upgrading to FCM SDK version 20.1.1 or later before upgrading to Responsys SDK version 6.45.0 will cause Responsys Push notifications to break, and will result in the inability to obtain a Push notification token for Android apps.
We are planning to address the compatibility issue with the Responsys SDK version 6.45.0 in early June. Until then, we recommend that you wait to upgrade to FCM SDK version 20.1.1 (or later) in order to ensure you can continue to use Responsys Push notifications without issue.
Steps to Enable
Upgrade to Responsys SDK version 6.45.0 or later.
Tips And Considerations
As long as your Android app uses FCM SDK version 20.1.0 and below with the Responsys Push SDK, Push notifications functionality will continue to work.
Key Resources
Review the Firebase Release Notes.
Role Information
This action is required by Android app developers.
Campaign Performance Reporting for Message Center Message Launches
You can now measure campaign performance in the Interactive Dashboards for Message Center messages launched either as part of Push campaigns or Message Center campaigns.

You can also measure campaign performance based on the following user engagement metrics: Message Displays, Message Opens, and Clicks within Additional Rich HTML Content.
Steps to Enable
Message Center Messages, a Controlled Availability feature, must be enabled in order to view campaign performance metrics.
This feature requires integration with the Responsys 20B SDK.

High Priority Messages to Android Devices
You can now send high priority messages to Android devices using the Push Message Designer. When you select a delivery priority of High Priority, Google attempts delivery of the message immediately, even when a device is sleeping (in Doze mode). This will ensure timely delivery of push notifications to a device that is in doze mode.
We recommend that you update your mobile applications to Oracle Responsys Mobile SDK for Android 6.44.0 / 20A or later. This version has enhanced ability to display notifications when an Android device is in Doze or when the app is in App Standby Mode.
Steps to Enable
To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).
Tips And Considerations
Google attempts to deliver high priority messages immediately, even when a device is sleeping (in doze mode). Setting High Priority for your push notification messages can help deliver messages more reliably and in a more timely manner on devices that implement aggressive power management. Android Platform restrictions apply when using High Priority for messages.
NOTE: We also recommend that your Android mobile app use the Responsys Mobile App SDK for 20A (6.44.0) or later. This version of the SDK added enhancements for displaying messages on sleeping devices. When your mobile app uses this version of the SDK and you use the High Priority delivery flag as appropriate, you’ll obtain the best results for delivering and displaying messages on devices that employ aggressive power management.
