Column Definitions:
Report = New or modified, Oracle-delivered, ready to run reports.
UI or Process-Based: Small Scale = These UI or process-based features are typically comprised of minor field, validation, or program changes. Therefore, the potential impact to users is minimal.
UI or Process-Based: Larger Scale* = These UI or process-based features have more complex designs. Therefore, the potential impact to users is higher.
Features Delivered Disabled = Action is needed BEFORE these features can be used by END USERS. These features are delivered disabled and you choose if and when to enable them. For example, a) new or expanded BI subject areas need to first be incorporated into reports, b) Integration is required to utilize new web services, or c) features must be assigned to user roles before they can be accessed.
Ready for Use by End Users Reports plus Small Scale UI or Process-Based new features will have minimal user impact after an update. Therefore, customer acceptance testing should focus on the Larger Scale UI or Process-Based* new features. |
Customer Must Take Action before Use by End Users Not disruptive as action is required to make these features ready to use. As you selectively choose to leverage, you set your test and roll out timing. |

Enhanced Intelligent Switch Options
Program Intelligent switch is enhanced to allow more specific options to be selected. You can add an Intelligent switch to a program orchestration canvas and then configure the stage to:
- Select the best campaign and channel for a recipient,
- Select the best time to send a message for a recipient, or
- Select a combination of (1) and (2), that determines the best campaign, channel, and time for a recipient.
You can orchestrate campaigns based on predictive conclusions, increasing the likelihood that customers will respond to campaign messages.
Steps to Enable
The Program Intelligent switch is available as part of the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on that must be ordered for your account. Please contact your account representative or Oracle sales.
Key Resources
- Visit our Help Center to learn more.
Role Information
This feature is available for Program Managers, Program Directors, Account Administrators, and Super Users.
SMS channel data is analyzed to generate fatigue segments for SMS subscribers. This is an enhancement to the existing Fatigue Analysis (for email) feature available in Oracle Responsys.
SMS Fatigue Analysis - Insight dashboard displays a chart to compare the send/click rate across the 4 personas
SMS marketers try to engage a majority of their subscriber base with several registration, discount, offer links. They can track the "clickthrough" metrics within the respective product. The Fatigue Analysis feature provides further insights on subscriber fatigue levels by providing warnings and suggests corrective action such as:
- Providing you with a solution for controlling how many campaigns your contacts receive, based on which persona the contact belongs to.
- Using Sends and Clicks to identify which of the recipients fall into which of the four personas: Under-saturated, Just-right, Saturated, and Over-saturated. You can use these personas to help determine which recipients are showing decreased engagement and are at risk of burnout.
Fatigue Analysis for SMS - Recommendations
Steps to Enable
This feature is available as part of the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on that must be ordered for your account. Please contact your account representative or Oracle sales.
If your account has the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on provisioned: Use the Intelligence Feature Management page to enable the Fatigue Analysis feature. If you already have it enabled, the Fatigue Analysis feature switch needs to be switched OFF and then ON again for the relevant SMS PETs to be generated. See the Enabling and disabling Intelligence features topic in the Responsys Help Center for more details.
Tips And Considerations
- SMS fatigue analysis is only recommended for accounts who have the "shortURL" feature switched on. For SMS engagement analysis, we track the "clickthrough" against the "sent" events and hence having shortURL enabled is a must.
- As a best practice, we recommend that you include links in most of your campaigns for the model to make accurate recommendations. We recommend that more than 75% of promotional campaigns should have link tracking enabled.
- You should ensure that the relevant campaigns are tagged as "promotional" (transactional campaigns are not considered for fatigue analysis).

Intelligence Feature Management Update
On the Intelligence Feature Management page, the Subject Line Predictions feature has moved to the "Features you have subscribed to" section. This feature will be listed and available only if you have subscribed to the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on.
Advanced Intelligence Package subscribers can enable the Subject Line Predictions feature when their organizations are ready to do so.
Steps to Enable
The Subject Line Predictions feature is available as part of the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on that must be ordered for your account. Please contact your account representative or Oracle sales. After the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on is provisioned and configured for your account, you can use the Intelligence Feature Management page in Responsys to enable the Subject Line Predictions feature.

Role Information
This feature is available for Data Directors, Super Users, and Account Administrators.
The Program Simulation feature allows you to view program-wide performance metrics for different versions of the same program orchestration. The predicted metrics are for:
- Click-through rate
- Open rate
You can re-run simulations any number of times, and you can view the results for up to 5 versions at a time. Predictions are generated and shown as a confidence level of either Low, Medium, or High.
This feature allows you to test run a program prior to publishing it and view predicted performance for the program based on data science models and machine learning. You will be able to modify and test programs any number of times and until you achieve the desired performance results. This also allows testing the next version of a program while a version is currently running. You can then compare results for the currently running program and a program in a draft mode.
Using Program simulation, you can:
- Understand the performance of a program without even publishing a program,
- Significantly reduce the overall effort it takes to mature a program for higher performance, and
- Generate higher ROI from programs, both upfront as well as getting aggregated uplift of ROI for several months upfront, considering that it typically takes several months to mature a program for peak ROI.
Steps to Enable
This feature is available as part of the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on that must be ordered for your account. Please contact your account representative or Oracle sales.
If your account has the Advanced Intelligence Package add-on provisioned: Use the Intelligence Feature Management page to enable the Program Simulation feature. See the Enabling and disabling Intelligence features topic in the Responsys Help Center for more details.

Advanced REST API Enhancements
API to trigger multiple Connect jobs: Use this Advanced API to trigger multiple Connect jobs. It supports up to 20 Connect jobs per API call.
API developers can now use the Responsys Advanced REST API to trigger multiple Connect jobs programmatically, instead of triggering Connect jobs one at a time. This improves client application efficiency.
Steps to Enable
Review the REST service definition in the REST API guides, available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > REST API. If you're new to Oracle's REST services you may want to begin with the Quick Start section.
Key Resources
- To learn more, see the Advanced API topic in the Responsys Developer Help Center.
Role Information
Client applications that use the Responsys Advanced REST API must authenticate as an API user with the applicable Web Services Manager roles enabled.
Updates to the Async REST API are:
- The Oracle Responsys Async API is now GA. As of the 21B update, the API will be available to all customers by default.
- Delete Supplemental Tables using Query Attributes: With this API, you can delete records from a supplemental table by passing primary key values in the API payload.
Asynchronous APIs allow client applications to poll for API request status, rather than having to wait for a synchronous API's response to occur before the client application's timeout settings. This improves client application efficiency.
Steps to Enable
Review the REST service definition in the REST API guides, available from the Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > REST API. If you're new to Oracle's REST services you may want to begin with the Quick Start section.
Key Resources

Multivariate Testing (MVT) for Push Campaigns
This feature enables you to set up and run multivariate tests (MVTs) for Push campaigns. MVTs can be run with either Push Opens or Push Conversions as the winning metric.
To use MVTs for Push campaigns in Responsys, you create the Push MVT campaign and create its test versions. Next, you add the campaign to a program orchestration and configure the MVT settings. You can review MVT results for ongoing or completed tests in the Program Analyze tab. You can review more detailed MVT analytics for ongoing or completed tests in the new Multivariate Tests report for Mobile Apps in Interactive Dashboards.
Creating a Push MVT campaign
- You can create variants for Push campaign attributes: Title, Notification Text, and Media
- You can create up to 16 test versions
Creating a program with multivariate testing enabled
Select an MVT Push campaign in a "Send push campaign" stage.
Enable multivariate testing for the stage, and then set the multivariate testing parameters. MVTs can be run with either Push Opens or Push Conversions as the winning metric.
Publish the program and let the MVT run, then review the MVT results from the Program Analyze tab. If you chose to run a manual test, you must designate the winner. For automatic tests, the winner is selected automatically.
Viewing the Multivariate Tests dashboard
- You can review detailed MVT analytics for ongoing or completed tests in the new Multivariate Tests report for Mobile Apps in Interactive Dashboards.
- This report gives a multivariate Test Summary over a date range. For each MVT, you can access a detailed view of Test Version Performance for the MVT.
